Guys.... Just a suggestion that helped me a lot, in case you haven't tried yet. You can contact your congressman and have him try to speed up the process. They usually have someone on their office that takes care of immigration. They really saved me and got my office to schedule my interview...
Galka,
If I were you I would send the I485 today (it looks like you haven't sent it yet). See my time line, I was very similar to you last year.
Good Luck!
Guys, read this thread as it contains step by step instructions:

You need to wait for you case to become current. Read the thread above for details.
If your number only gets current in September, you will most likely not have time to do AOS. Like others said, you should do CP. I wouldn't even think about doing AOS with your number.
Good Luck.
Your case is indeed very high and I think chances would be very low for getting the GC through AOS.
Your case was only current in September for DV2006, was never current for DV2005 and was only current in August for DV2004.
We never know when your number will be current for DV2008 but you...
Your case number should be in the paperwork you received from KCC. It is in a lot of places and will look like 2008SA0001234 (Where SA is your region code, yours might be different, and 1234 is your rank number).
You cannot submit it before October 1, 2007 and may not even do it until next...
When you send your file to Chicago, it will go through several offices until it reaches your local office and gets an officer assigned. The first thing the officer has to do when he/she starts working on your case is request your file from KCC. If you call KCC they will tell you when your file...
I filed mine in June (high number) and did not include DV fee receipt.
I took it to the interview.
Good Luck and Hurry up! There are a lot of places to do the medical so call all of them and see which one is the fastest. They usually all charge the same.
I don't think there is a legal way for to work before the EAD, or for you to even stay here in the US, since you are changing to a B2 visa, I am not sure how long they will allow you to remain here. You need to be very careful because they do check if you stayed here illegally and will deny the...
You can also look online to see if the letter and cards were mailed.
You can find it on this website:
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp;jsessionid=aMTEj-IGNHNc
On my case the welcome notices were mailed on the same day and I got it a week later.
Good Luck.
The 50,000 visas are for winners AND beneficiaries and not winners only.
See this statistic for 2003:
In fiscal year 2003, Department of State embassies and consulates issued 48,115 diversity visas to persons from 158 countries/geographic entities.
The statistics cited are drawn from the...
Sorry but I don't know... What I do know is that they asked me during the interview if I had another AOS process pending. I answered no since I didn't have, but I am not sure what they would do if I answered yes.
