canuckbro, assuming your parents birth did happen in Hyderabad you can do the following. Get a Non Availability Certificate from the local municipal corporation (Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad I guess). I know someone who were in the same situation as your parents and had no problem. The...

Do you need to bring copies of every single paper?

My guess is that you should be OK with the tax return documents that you have. IRS transcripts may have been good. Nevertheless, you at least have some proof to validate that you filed taxes and have no dues to IRS.

    Chicago IL - N-400 Timeline

I mailed 88 days earlier. The IO in our case did indicate that we were too close to the 90 days and in fact recalled that he had to recount twice to make sure we did not apply too early. The wisdom on this forum is to no be very close to the 90 day eligibility. You may be better of being in...

IgnorantPerson, The list of documents that Johnnycash recommends is very comprehensive. I highly recommend to have them handy in order to avoid a deferred judgment on your case on the day of the interview. When we had our interview, my spouse was asked to show her SSN and Birth...

zee2007, What Flydog has indicated is what happened in my case as well. I received the oath letter yesterday (May 2nd oath). I had my interview in Chicago on 4/10/2007. I am speculating that you will have your oath sometime in the month of May (assuming the supervisor approval is...

    Last Post before filing N-400

I am not sure if it makes sense to include items 5-8. You can carry them to the interview if needed. It is in your best interest to not confuse an agency like USCIS.

    naturalization interview

    1) It depends on where you are located. I have heard that Baltimore (if I remember correctly) administers the computerized civics test at the time of finger printing. For the most part the civics test is administered as part of the interview. Again it varies from DO to DO as to how it is...

    N-400 question -Boston DO

As of May 2006, USCIS is scheduling interviews only after all the background checks are complete. However, there have been cases when things fall through the cracks. Unfortunately, looks like you are one of those. The one positive thing in your case is that you completed the interview...

    1. FP check is done electronically and typically the results are sent back the same day. Please check the stick threads on this forum for FBI numbers to find out the FP status. Provide your A# to the FBI when you call. 2. FP check and name check are two separate background checks. Though...

Question: Apply Citizenship for me, and GC for my wife

Your wife getting a F-1 has no linkage to whether you have a GC or not. The key is whether your wife is legally here in the US with a valid status. If so, she should not have any issues to get F-1 (provided of course she gets admitted to a school that issues F-1). Once she gets admitted to a...

    naturalization interview outcome document

All N-400 approvals are in essence by the IO (the person who interviews you) and his/her supervisor. This process makes sure that nothing slips by (at least in theory). For a majority of the cases the supervisory approval is a rubber stamp. The only question though is how long it takes...

    Atlanta GA - N-400 Timeline

45mark123, Here are the links. However, I would not be that concerned if it is only 7 weeks since FP. The background checks do take time and the collective wisdom on this forum is to wait for at least 6 months before panicking. http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=194681...

Question: Apply Citizenship for me, and GC for my wife

If I were you, I would seriously keep all the options open. The N-400 processing can take anywhere from 3 months to 4 years or more. The tricky part to the N-400 processing is how lucky you get with the background security clearance (more specifically FBI name check). In case you are unlucky...
