Where to send? I'm going to the post office to send my reply to the RFI. I'll send them to PO Box 87485 instead of 82521. This is what they show on their website about 82521: General Correspondence (Inquiries) (Sending applications or petitions to this address will only delay their...

I went to Chile, Argentina and Brazil last December. I applied all the visas at their respective consulates in Los Angeles. No big problem with visa application or travelling. But there were irritations. First you need to have RTD good for at least 6 months after your intended travel dates...

settlement announcement (NOT as good as some of us thought)

No. It's not such a big deal to me personally. However, I'm still very thankful for AILF. They are one of the few people who cares about this bad situation we're in. And they did achieve something for lots of people.

Senate to Vote TODAY on Bill Eliminating Caps for Asylees and Parolees

From the lobbier's message, they thought it's not a good idea to propose the amendment that day because under time limit the risk of passing the anti-asylum amendment was unclear. They just hadn't calculated that factor in at that time. Now they have more time they can tabulate Senator's...

Senate to Vote TODAY on Bill Eliminating Caps for Asylees and Parolees

The bill is not about immigration. I wish the adjustment of asylees can be faster by any way; but it just doesn't make sense to put an amendment on this bill.

    CONgress approved 25000/year Asylees

This bill was NEVER approved by the House of Representatives. Some congresswoman proposed this bill and it was dead right away. No vote ever happened in even a subcommitee.

    asylee IS refugee!

Point 1) is absurd. However, the Constitution does not gurantee that non-citizen be treated the same as citizens.

Asylum after J-1 with 2YRR. Is it safe to travel?

Home residency requirement doesn't affect anyone's ability to travel. It only limits one's ability to get immigration visa or to adjust status to PR.

There is logic to distinguish asylee from refugee in adjustment of status. There is no number limit in granting asylum while there is limit in admitting refugee. Refugees have to get the number before they come to the U.S. There is no reason to delay asylee adjustment. But refugees are...
