Update on USCIS website

Case status update

My EAD was approved on April 27 and advance parole on May 4.

Today, I got 2 emails (duplicates) that my EAD has been approved.

I logged in and checked my portfolio and the last update date on my EAD, AP, I-485, and I-140 is May 10, 2004 (today).

No change in my spouse's dates.

Why would there be an update on my approved EAD and AP applications ?

Very confusing !

Did you fill AR-11 form recently? or called USCIS to change the address? I did that last week and I got all I485 but I140 dates updated.

In my case my spouse's EAD and AP got approved 2 weeks back. I saw some activity around the same time in my EAD/AP but nothing happened. No status message change/ no email nothing. Wondering what is that made my wife's case got approved but not mine.

Have any of you seen / experienced this type of situation?
Any input will be appreciated.Thanks

I did fill out AR-11 and call USCIS about address change, but that was around March 29th.

That reminds me... I need to call them again for the address change. They sent the EAD cards to the old address (even after 3 phone calls to change address) !

My spouse and I do not have different approval dates. However, only my applications (all of them) have today as the last update date.

No, we had already received our EAD cards as well as AP approval notices.

Spouse's I-485 case has a Last Updated date of May 11, 2004 now.

Great. How about your's?

I know that the USCIS web site says that the Last Updated Date may change without a change in status due to "Internal processing" being done, although who knows what "Internal processing" means :)

However, it was just surprising to see that both spouse and I got our EAD cards in the first week of May and my attorney got the AP approval notices on May 8th, and the Last Updated Date for all my applications (EAD/AP/I-140/I-485) is May 10 2004 and the Last Updated Date for all my spouse's applications (EAD/AP/I-485) is May 11, 2004

Obviously, something must have been done on 10th and 11th, but we just don't know what !

Is this first time that you saw change in dates or have you seen before too? I am trying to find out if there could be a possible correlation to be on the right queue.

The Last Updated dates for our EAD and AP applications did change when they got approved (April 27 and May 4).

This is the first change in dates for I-140 and I-485 (and the dates changed for EAD and AP too)

So I belv these are the only date-changes you have seen till now for your case. Could you keep posted whenever date change so that correlation could be ascertained? Also if your's in right queue then that means rest of the cases which are filed after you will also get benefits.

did u say u applied for change of address, if so they will update the dates, bcaz,in my case my son's last named was spelled wrong in the initial application of 485, later my lawyer sent a request and the date on his applictaion changed to the date when they changed and i also recieved the notice from UCIS that the name has been corrected...

I called the USCIS 800 number to change address for my cases as well as my spouse's on May 11, 2004, in the afternoon, after the Last Updated Date was updated for both myself and spouse.

It was not the address change that triggered the date change.

Next Update??

Should we see an update from USCIS tomorrow regarding processing dates??? I believe it will be 2 weeks from the last update tomorrow (5/20)...

Please comment.

Thanks.

Just for the records here:

Per May 19, 2004 USCIS update -

Both EB2 and EB3 application dates have moved to Oct. 1, 2003.

Here's a quick summary of the changes from yesterday's update.

05/19/04 (+13 days):

I-765 (AOS) 02/18/04 (+16 days)
I-140 (EB2 excep. ability) 10/01/03 (+22 days)
I-140 (EB2 excep. ability NIW) 08/15/02 (+0 days)
I-140 (EB3 skilled worker) 10/01/03 (+40 days)
I-485 02/15/02 (+0 days)

Unfortunately, as far as EB3 applications go, I'm skeptical that they're this far along. Looking at the 2003 tracker there are still many EB3 people from Jul/Aug/Sep who aren't approved yet (probably >80%). There are also many EB2's left in Sep.

This is ironic since in the past it's sometimes appeared that the processing dates were actually *behind* reality...

Thanks a lot ETA-GC. Nice stats.

I am a bit sceptic about what is going on in VSC. The dates are moving ahead, but processing and report of approvals do not seem to reflect it. There is something fishy somewhere - parhaps some hidden motive.

ETA,

Can you also include AP dates in your summary, they have moved by a whopping 3 months in yesterday's update, from Dec'03 to Mar'04.
