Baltimore transfer at 8/6 (RD 1/16/2002)

Just came from interview. It was easy. Officer took taxes, I94, and current EAD. All the questions were routine:
1) Name of your parents
2) SSN
3) EVL
4)When and where did you last enter the US
5) All these NO questions regarding polygamy, communist parties etc, etc...
Then the officer asked us to wait in the waiting room. We waited 15 min, and then she came with our passports stamped.
All interviews are very routine. There is the only thing I regret : Being so worried about interview. Please do not worry! Once they transferred the case to the local office, your case is clean (pre-approved). It's very simple.
Good luck!!!

Congratulations on your approval. BTW, can you tell me how long did it take for you to get your interview scheduled after yoru case was transferred to Baltimore by VSC.

Compass,
The officer asked if we were arrested. We firmly answered NO. This is one of so called NO questions. So, if you were arrested you have to explain why. There were threads in California transfers discussing this matter.
Also, you can read posts by Curious George regarding WHY the cases are transferred. There is SOP for transfer.
It is unlikely they would ask you if you ever were out of status ( This questions is not on the list of your I485 application). You are not qualified to answer this question. It's their job to find if you were out of status or not. If the officer in Vermont suspects violation she/he will issue RFE or NOID. Besides, all violations before your last entry are irrelevant. If asked this question say NO.
They have parking garage. $8.
The officer said card would arrive in 9-12 months.

Want GC Soon,
It took 5 months to get the interview letter.
My case is NIW
ND is April 2002
TD is June 2004
IL received November 2004
PS December 2004

Transfer

VSC transfered my case to Local Office Balitmore MD.. today,,,, don't know how much wait is there for me

Marusia,
Thanks again for information! My case is also NIW, PD april 2002...so it takes approximately 5 months between transfer and interview...
please come back to this forum:)))tell us when your card will arrive! Maybe sooner than 12 months :D

Congratulations Marusia :) ,
That is really great news after a long wait..... Enjoy the holidays :)...

If I am correct your case was transferred in June, right....? Approx 6 months for interview from Transfer Date would be a valid estimate for those waiting [including truly yours...], I guess...

As for the "Stupid Question", do you mean the parking in their Basement [USCIS Building] or.....???

Cheers!!!
V!!

Thanks guys!!!
I also would like to thank Ginnu, Cinta and RealCanadian. Their posts are very informative.
I will update the forum when we receive cards.
Once you will get the interview letter, you will get the directions to the office with the map. There are many places to park your car marked on the map. Fallon Bldg is surrounded with public garages.

Good luck to everyone!!!

parking at Baltimore

Folks...maybe it must be me who should explore parking @ Baltimore..
yes I work in Baltimore but I am so poor (u know, NIW case :D ) I can not afford coming here with a car and I use a bus:))) a FREE shuttle bus..
but for interview I must come with my family (3) so it will be 3 x $1.60 one way :D so I am trying to find out how much is parking and I am still not sure what would be better for me, I mean cheaper :D
I found one place in Baltimore with parking meters which give you 1.25 hours for a quarter and the limit is 10 hours of parking :D it is 10 min walking from that Fallon office building...problem is this nice place has normally no open slots
one more place is normal, a quarter per 30 min I guess, we parked there when giving FP also 10 min walking.. we paid for nothing since meters work since 9am and we parked at 7:30 and we did not know how long FP will take to we paid for 2 hours (limit) and came back at exactly 9am :D
Marusia I appreciate your info about $8... was it full day or 1 hour...

--------- your form that they took your finger print and signature with photographs and the compleate file will be transfred again to service center and then at service center the fingerprinted white long card with your A# DOB and Name will be sent to Card production unit then they will make the Card. becase of Vacations the srivice center will have many Card production applications sent by local USCIS under particular service center. The card producton is going to suffer becase of vacations. I expect that you will get your Card in 3 months. if you go to other thread for Green Card, I did not read any post that some one got card recently after few days of interview at local USCIS and after passport stamping.
Good Luck!!!

**** I am surprised to know that one poster who is working on H1 and the case is NIW is just thinking of 2$ or 5$ for parking and in every post he is postiong he is poor. if he is working on H1 then he is getting the minimum LCA salary and I know the minimum LCA on H1 in Baltimore. does he expect that only he is working on H1 and others dont know that he is getting the minimum wages as per LCA? what kind of NIW area he is working? with this kind of attitude how that person will help US National Intrests???(NIW) still if he needs money for parking I can send him $20 and others can also contribute so that the poster dont have to worry about Parking charges or fees.
Good luck to everyone!!!

Ginnu,
Thanks for your reply! I know sometimes (a lot of times) my jokes become too boring, so someone is needed to yell on me and stop me :) of course I can afford parking :) I know folks I have to post some useful info here and not junk idle stuff like this parking chat :) I just was in a bad mood thinking if I should get a lawyer for my future interview
Have a nice Holydays everybody!

Live in Baltimore, Case transferred to San Jose, CA

My case is transferred to San Jose office on Dec 6th 2004. At the time of applying I-485 my attorney assistant gave my relative address that too wrong door number in CA and Baltimore address for my wife and kid. During my first EAD card went to wrong address, my attorney assistant called BCIS and made them correct in the system. Also at the time of giving 2nd FP in Silver Spring they changed to present address. Few question i have:

1. Do i need to send them AR-11 for change of address? If yes, will they transfer my case to Baltimore office?
2. How much time they take to transfer the file to Baltimore office?
3. It’s been already one month, in couple of days if they are going to send me letter. Do you think i making it more delay by sending them AR-11 form?
4. Do you think i should wait for interview letter and attend in SJO? If yes, what are the questions they might ask me?

I am tense and confused. Please Gurus share thoughts

Did anybody receive interview letter recently from Baltimore office. If so can you please post the details.

My case was transfered on Sep 14 2004. Still I am waiting. when i visited INS office, they had told that it would take 4 - 6 months to get the interview scheduled. It is really tough to wait, wait.....

Thanks for your inputs.

My case got transferred to the Baltimore office. Any idea how long will it take for them to schedule an interview. I think I am really unlucky. I got RFE on 140 then an RFE on 485 and now this case transfer. I think I will have to stick forever to this 485 forum

I Started my process from Apr 2000 and my RD is March 2002. So I am really losing my patience on Waiting and Waiting....

I dont know when I will really see the End of the Tunnel.

Hi GlenMd,

I am wonderfulboy whose case got transferred to washington dc office almost time frame as yours. Mine got transferred on 23rd September 2004. I got the interview letter on 17th December 2004. I did the interview on yesterday i.e. 6th Jan 2005.

But in the interview everything went fine except that they could not receive the name check/security status from NNCP (Name Check Program) division of FBI located in Washington DC. Everyother thing officer is completely satisfied.

He said will call me and let me know the status as and when the name check status is received by them. Then i guess will stamp on my passport and later issue cards.

Basically i approached the immigration related person with Virginia Senator's office.

Similarly you should push the immigration specialist in Maryland Senator's office. Depends how aggressive you are buddy.

I got interview letter within 3months time.

Now i am pushing 100% on Name check thing.

Try to look at the postings in Washington DC thread to see lot of information. Ok. Be positive thats it.
