I read somewhere that the order that they follow would be PD, RD i.e., once the PD becomes current, then the I-485 application is eligible to be adjudicated. Then it will be based on RD which makes sense to me.
I always receive 2 emails for one case if there is an update on it. I don't know why. May be a system problem at USCIS' end. Also the LUD changes twice for two consecutive days for a single update on a case.
Also, the LUD on I-485 changes (only sometimes) when they were trying to process...
This is a standard RFE. Nothing to worry. They just want to ensure you have a job and that it is meeting the requirements specified in your labor certification. Good Luck with your reply.

It is only "fools" that believe that USA can live without outsourcing. If that had been the case, an ordinary pant or shirt can cost anywhere from 100 to 200 bucks. :)
I think, when USCIS resolves your queries, they will post that kind of message. I have called USCIS to change my address couple of times and both the times, they have updated the address and posted similar kind of message.

I-485 RD- Nov 14th 2003.
FP'd on 05/14/04.
