Update on USCIS website

Wait a little more - this update will be a surprise. :)
No surprise man .. see the only thing that is in my favor is 140 for EB2 has moved to November 19, 2003 .. so even if they process month by month from here .. I should get my 140 by end of October ... that is not too bad .... :) But I dont really care about 140 .. it is 485 that bothers me most.

PD: Priority Date (Date when LC was filed)
RD: Reciept Date (Date when service centers recv application of various kind e.g 140/485/EAD/AP/130...
ND: Notice Date (Date when service centers generate Notice of the case and also assigna case number).
FP: Finger Printing.
RFE: Request for evidence.

For you was 04/08/2004 the date when you/our lawyer mailed it? Then it is mailing date.
Your ND should be 04/13/2004.

What we use as RD is the date when application is delivered in service center and for USCIS RD is when they generate case number for you and acknowledge that case is recd.

By the way feel free to join 2004 tracker.

Thanks for info.

It would be nice to have online tracking system for i140 and i485 for all service centers, like the one created by rupnet.
Excel sheet are hard to maintain and track.. though it is a good start somewhere. Hope khanna web team is doing something about it..

when is the next update?

Isn't the Update time . I know that CIS is not strictly maintaining the 2 week schedule but i thas been more than two weeks now excluding the 4 th holiday. Last one was June 23.

Its been 16 days since the last update.

The average time between updates since 03/04/04 is 15.875 days although the last update took 19 days.

It's day 19 and no update yet!

The AILA website shows NSC and TSC as having updated their dates on 7/7. Guess VSC (and CSC?) is lagging behind ...

I havent seen much movement PAST the november dates already posted for EB2 and EB3. So, I wonder if we will the dates move with this update. Of course, you never know with USCIS :)

VSC Update 07/12/04

Update 07/12/04 +19 days

I-765 (AOS) 04/09/04 +11 days
I-131 (AP) 04/26/04 +18 days
I-140 (EB2 excep. ability) 11/19/03 +0 days
I-140 (EB2 excep. ability NIW) 09/03/02 +8 days
I-140 (EB3 skilled worker) 11/07/03 +15 days
I-485 04/17/02 +61 days

Nice jump in the I-485 date (although we have been seeing some approvals well beyond this date).

Correction...

Though not an intentional error - am sure caused some adrenaline rush in atleast a few ????? ;)

Thanks for pointing it out. I've made the correction.

For 485, it's still 2002 and not 2004 as you mentioned. ETA where's your analysis?

Sorry -- I was out of the office today (and I wasn't expecting another update this soon :)). Here's the "analysis":

Update 07/21/04 +9 days

I-765 (AOS) 05/27/04 +48 days
I-131 (AP) 04/26/04 +0 days
I-140 (EB2 excep. ability) 11/20/03 +1 days
I-140 (EB2 excep. ability NIW) 09/03/02 +0 days
I-140 (EB3 skilled worker) 01/03/04 +57 days
I-485 06/04/02 +48 days

Nice jump in the I-485 date (109 days over the last 2 updates) and in the I-140 (EB3) date (hard to believe these are down to about 7 months now). The I-485 jump is especially impressive given that prior to the 2 most recent updates it had only moved 15 days in 6+ earlier updates.

Still, as far as the I-485 date goes, this isn't a huge surprise -- we've been seeing a number of I-485 approvals for ND's of June, July 2002 (or even later) for some time now (there have even been a trickle of approvals for ND's of Jan/Feb 2003 or later).

Unfortunately, I'd bet that the huge numbers of transfers that we are seeing are contributing to the average processing date -- i.e. from the VSC's point of view, I'm guessing that a transferred case is considered to have been "processed", even though it could take a long time for the local centers to actually approve (or deny) the case.

Also, in case anyone is interested, I attached the simple spreadsheet which I'm using to track VSC updates (it goes back to the beginning of March 2004).

Go VSC Go....

ETA
