July 2005 AOR..buffalo timeline...

Hi,

Sone news from CIC:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/whatsnew/index.html

Nothing really extraordinary, but the CIC minister talks about the backlog in the note from May 10....a backlog of 800 000 files ... isn't it amazing? This is I think about 4% of the entire population of Canada. He also talks about the controversial imigration targets...which might affect us (?)

Based on Buffalo tracker (http://www.yogi799.com/timeline/buffalo/indexsorted.asp?sortby=id desc) it seems that CIC is still processing March 2005 files, although some exceptions (i.e. AOR in Apr05 and May05) can be found on other discussion boards.

Good luck to all and hope to see our IAs soon...

Gerula

Dear All

I received my IA today and the interview is waived. The next step is medical and FBI crt and PCC.

My advice is Hang in there !!!

Thank you

Hi Zad886

Thank you for keeping track of the cases. I think you will hear from them soon, my AOR was towards the end of march 05.

Thank you. I was sure that will give you some relief. I will definitly keep all of you posted....

Hi,

Some statistics about immigration:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/research/index.html

Of most interest might be Facts and Figures and The Monitor

And here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/monitor/issue12/02-immigrants.html

you can find an official interpretation of stats regarding increasing number of immigrants.

An excerpt from there: 'the number of economic principal applicants was 18% higher than it was in 2004' (refers in the third quarter of 2005)

Thus, if let's say the time to obtain IA (for a 'no fault/ no questions asked by CIC' type of file) one year ago was let's say 12 - 14 months, now it should be 14-17 months.....Gee....I don't want to be pessimistic, but my initial supposition for IA is still valid.

People...tell me I'm wrong....

I guess I had my coffee too late....is 5 a.m. and I'm still browsing...

Anyway...Z I found something about the number of applications processed in Buffalo, but in 1998. Application types are defined at the bottom of the page.

Check this out:
http://www.oag-bvg.gc.ca/domino/reports.nsf/html/0003xe10.html

Amazing...

Also you can find a 2003 report of OAG (without any data for Buffalo) in which is said that they recomennded a change in offshore application processing in 2000, but the situation remained unchanged (i.e. they wanted to decrease the number of offshore applications because they put much more effort on immigration officers):

Hi guys,

I'm new to this blog and it appears you guys are are real quick in responding hence my reason for joining.

AR: Dec. 2005 (am i doomed or what?)
AOR: Dec. 2005

My lawyer advised I submit my IELTS results, and police reports at the same time as the application. When I received my AOR, it stated that i should expect to hear back within 8-10 months. If it's taking you guys over a year to receive your IA's, then i guess i should anticipate waiting the same amount of time. i did hear that the immigration changes i.e. speeding up the review process was actually going to be implemented in 2007, not 2006.

Holler.

Hello Cyprus97,

Welcome!

With an AOR of Dec 2005, I would not expect an IA any earlier than early 2007. It appears they are only processing March '05 at this time. Most of us were advised of a 36 week waiting period, but obviously it is taking longer. But I wouldn't say you are doomed just yet, as we've all seen, nothing with the immigration process is written in stone!

Hello Zad, I thought it was strange you haven't been around for a few days. Must have been some glitch with the system.

Hi Gerula,

I was wondering the same thing, so I went looking. Here's one way to do it:

At the top of the last post (full view version) click on "thread tools", next, from the drop-down menu, choose "subcribe to this thread", then, choose "instant notification by email" and then "submit".

Lastly "wait and see" if it works :)
