USCIS LOCKBOX LOCATION/ADDRESS

Pre-emptively putting up this post in anticipation of folks that will soon be asking about the lockbox address information. Use the below table to determine which USCIS lockbox you should send DV based AOS package based on where you live. I realize the table says "certain family-based...", please note DV based cases also fall under this category.

Yes, you are correct. Updated list shows New York is now under the Elgin Lockbox.

Hello, is it possible to have e.g. parents abroad show bank statements in their name with a letter agreeing to financially support the individual?

Having financial support documentation from the US is preferable.

Use the tax transcript not the 1040 if available.

And total income as far as I know.
Sponsor is not able to log in online to get (Tax Transcript) online. If she couldn't get it soon, Can I just include 1040 and 1099-R ??
as I will apply on 1st of October.

Hello mom.

My sponsor just sent me his documentation for i-134, His HH size is 3 incl him.

1. He sent me a joint transcript of Tax returns, which he filed with his wife. Is that admissible if he’s the only one sponsoring me?

2. during 2023 he was laid off and was out of work for a few months, but he still has a gross income of 55k USD on his W2 and his income on 1099 is around 14k Is that sufficient?

3. He got a good job in the month of may 2024 which pays 100k PA and he’s provided me with the payslips (4 months) . But he doesnt have significant savings in his bank account but he gets paid around 8k every month.

4. For instance my CN becomes current in February do i need to have the recent pay slips prior 3 months of February or from the date i prepare my i-134? do i need the W2 from 2024 if thats been generated when my CN becomes current?

Considering all the above do you think the funds are sufficient?

1. Yes.
2 & 3. USCIS is more focused on the current annual income - you can review the current PGL yourself to confirm if his current annual income is at the required level to cover your combined households as your sponsor.
4. Recent pay slips from the date of your AOS filing. Preferable to use that.

Having financial support documentation from the US is preferable.
Thank you.

I am considering adding a I-134 to our package to make it bulletproof and have a bunch of questions.

If there is some guide on that form, I could not find it. It seems pretty confusing as of now so my apologies for any obvious questions.

1. For question 1, does "Myself as the beneficiary" mean I would be both beneficiary and supporter, or is it to declare who prepared the form?
2. If we have the form filled for each of us, do we list assets and income of both in each under beneficiarys income and beneficiarys assets?
3. If the supporters household size is one, to fill the form for two separately, the income should be for three on the poverty guideline, correct?

Thank you.

My responses to your questions are based on expert advice I previously received on this platform regarding similar inquiries.

If you lack sufficient funds or employment to demonstrate that you won't become a public charge, the AOS spreadsheet suggests it’s best to complete Form I-134.

1. For "myself as the beneficiary" means you are sponsoring yourself and your derivatives and also means you prepared the form yourself.

2. We were advised to complete only one form to cover all derivatives. On this form, you should include all assets and income, including those of your derivatives.

3. The current Poverty Guidelines Level (PGL) must account for both the sponsor's household size and yours.

Thank you.

1. The I-134 is used under two different circumstances: for certain NIV applicants, and for applicants filing for permanent residency who are not eligible to use an I-864. So for that Q1, the NIV applicant selects “Myself as the Beneficiary” since they are self sponsoring their temporary visit. In your case, your sponsor is supposed to fill out the form and select the “Another individual who is the beneficiary” option.
2. Based on my above explanation, your sponsor fills out a single I-134 for the main applicant. This will also cover the applicant’s derivatives as their dependents.
3. If the sponsor has no dependent of their own, then their personal household number is one plus the beneficiary and his/her dependents’ household. If beneficiary’s household number is two, sponsors minimum income must be sufficient to support a household of 3 in this case.

A 3rd party is supposed to provide you with the I-134 if you cannot demonstrate your personal financial self-sufficiency.

Hello mom.

Im on my F1 OPT right now. Since i read #plus19 case on the DV 2024 forum i had a question.

I took a transfer from University A and my SEVIS record was Released on April/18/2022 to University B, since my mandatory orientation was on MAY/18/2022 at university B (release is in 30 day window)

But the program start date on my i20 From university B is June/ 27/2022, would the officer deem me out of status since its out of 30 day window? ( im just worried)

Can u please see the image, it is the transfer-IN form from university B which was Filled by my DSO at university A. Pls check the Green underlined dates

The 30 day duration is determined by start date or the Orientation date on my acceptance letter, will it have any effect on my case?

I’m sorry I cannot speak to this as it is outside the realm of the guidance I provide in this forum.

Hello, I would like to get your insight on my package as I am arranging it to send it in a couple of days :)
Please advise if
1. There's anything missing ?
2. Should i add sticky notes before each group of documents like "proof of maintaining status / proof of education / proof of eligibility country of birth, etc" or just all documents following each other with small paper clips holding each group together.
3. Quoted "If a question does not apply to you, you may enter N/A or leave the field blank."
Did anyone experience issues from leaving them blank on I-485 or I-134?

1. Please use the list in the “AOS Package” tab of the AOS Process spreadsheet to cross check - that’s what that list is for.
2. Please use your discretion. Do take a look at the “AOS Package Assemble” take of the AOS Process spreadsheet to get an idea of what some of the other folks have done in the past.
3. You can take a look at the Pre-filled sample I-485 to get an idea of how to fill out your forms.

p.s. guys, please don’t ask me to review your AOS package for completeness, that’s asking for too much from me. I realize doing such a review as this for one person opens the floodgates of similar requests from others which is not a good use of my time.

Hello @Sm1smom. Could you please clear information about cover letter. We have to send 4 different envelopes for each persons in one big. Should I print for each case own letter? Or this will one for all? I looked at an example and saw that showed 2 copy of check for adults and 3 for kids. It looks like all in one cover. I’m wrong?

One cover letter should be fine.

Hello,
regarding the I-485, I thoroughly reviewed the sample form provided.

1. In fields such as Middle Name for parents or oneself, would I put N/A or leave blank?
2. In fields of addresses that are not relevant, e.g. when a ZIP code is available, would I put N/A in the Postal Code field or leave blank?

Thank you.
