DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

The link to instructions for where and how to make the payment is on the spreadsheet though. Anyways, here’s the mailing address:

U.S. Department of State
Diversity Visa Program

Hi, @Sm1smom
I’m panicking. I sent administrative fee for DV for US Department of State DV Program, I reread all your TIP and see that I have to send to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
What should I do now? Money orders should be received today.

Looks like you’re needlessly getting yourself confused. I hope you realize there are two different types of payments involved with this process.

The first payment is the $330/person DV administrative fee which gets sent to the address in my previous response to you (which you’ve included in your above post).

The second payment $1440/adult for the AOS filing fee which gets sent with the AOS package to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

What a relief! Thank you.

Hello,

I-797 is listed as a supporting document on the AOS spreadsheet.

If an EAD card was issued for OPT, is the related I-797 a document to provide besides copy of the EAD, or would the I-797 only be required for actual status changes?

For sponsor filling I-134: which line on the IRS tax return 1040, should one use for the income?
Line 9: Total Income
or
Line 11: Adjusted gross income
?
Thanks

Use the tax transcript not the 1040 if available.

And total income as far as I know.

Hi @Sm1smom ,
In I-485 under part 8 - public charge, item 65 - Can I mention my liabilities as $0 in a case where I only have a couple of hundred as credit card bills, which I pay off at the end of each month? Or should I still choose the option $1-$10,000? - what is your recommendation?

I would think the spreadsheet is clear enough on this though since it says:

I-797 Notice of Action – For current and past Status (If applicable) - Photocopy Only

Anyways, inclusion of a copy of the I-797 demonstrating approval of the EAD, plus a copy of the EAD card itself; or inclusion of the EAD card alone works either way.

Liabilities include fixed and regular expenses, such as a mortgage or lease payment, car loans, school tuition, or child support, etc. Normal living expenses for things like food, utilities, gasoline, clothes, etc. are not considered liabilities. So based on this, you should be able to make the determination as to if you have any liabilities or not, to enable you accurately respond to that question.

Is this whole amount of car loans, for example, or should I show only monthly payments?

@Sm1smom , Thank you.
Also, could you please direct me to the information regarding how to list the documents when we are making the AOS package (i.e. in which order we should be filling the documents in the package, what should come as first, where to have the money order and photos placed)
Appreciate your support in this!

So, I have new question.
Main applicant my husband, but he doesn’t work yet, we have enough money for our family. Should I fill out i-134 for him? Or we only can show taxes and my paychecks for 3-6 months, and employee verification from my job in his package?

I-134 is supposed to be provided by a 3rd party. If you feel your personal income and savings alone are enough to demonstrate financial sufficiency based on your personal documents, then include copies of those in his package.

Hello Mom,

I am preparing I-485 forms for my children. I have several questions:

1-Part I Item 18 asks for 'Passport Number Used at Last Arrival', I put my children's arrival passport numbers in this item which matches their I-94. Their passport did not have any visa since their applicable visas were on their previous passports. Item 22 asks for 'Nonimmigrant Visa Number from this Passport'. Should I put their visa numbers in Item 22 anyways or leave it blank?

2- If the answer to previous question is 'leave blank', should I write their visa number & the respective passport number in Part 14?

3-My children are under 14 years old. I am preparing the form for them. Should I define myself as the preparer in the I-485?

4-One of my children does not know how to read yet. Should I leave the following representation unchecked for this child?
'I can read and understand English, and I have read and understand every question and instruction on this application and my answer to every question'

Thank you for your support.

Thank you for your support.
1. Write the visa number from the expired passport.
3. No, leave the prepare section blank. It is generally understood that parents will fill out the forms for their minor kids (and that does not equate to being an official "preparer"). You will sonly sign the Applicant's Signature section (with your own signature) on behalf of your child.
4. You're filling the form on behalf of your child, so you have to check the person indicating you can read and write.

What about Applicant"s Contact Information? Do I write my contact information here? Or leave this part blank? Kids don't have phone number and email.
