DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

I only watched GoT to season 5 so I somehow must have missed her graduation, damn! Thank you.

Some questions:

For the main selectee, to prove high school or an equivalent was completed, there are three documents available from the home country:

- Title: "Provisional certificate", stating that "XXX has completed the school leaving certificate examination for grade XI and XII", the year, DOB, school name.

- Title: "Migration certificate", stating that "XXX has completed the school leaving certificate examination for grade XI and XII and the board has no objection to him/her joining any other institution or university", year of completion.

- Title: "Academic transcript", stating "school leaving certificate examination grade XI and XII" and showing completion year, DOB, classes, grades and final grade.

1. which one should be attached?
2. whats the relevance of the HS diploma if a US bachelors diploma will also be attached?
3. i already previously asked about the date format, the documents utilize the bikram samvat calendar which is obvious, as e.g. 2020 = 2077. as far as i understood the reply i got is that the date is of less relevance if the name is correct. would attaching a letter explaining and refering to the birth certificate which has dates in both calendars by adding screenshots of both documents make sense, or rather avoid?
I would say the last, which is a complete record. You don’t want to provide something called “provisional”, and the migration certificate seems extraneous.

Thank you.

1. Regarding the dates, would the approach with explaining it on a separate sheet be reccomended to show the birth date matches, or neglectable?

2. Regarding financial documents, I want to attach my stock portfolio, is this a concern in any way on F-1? 3 months or just the latest?

Thank you.

1 I wouldn’t worry about that
2 please use your discretion

1. The Early Filing Memo you saw has been superseded by the information on the USCIS link, so that memo is no longer applicable.
2. There's no official requirement to include anything as part of the AOS filing - use your discretion to determine what you should include based on the recommended list on the AOS process spreadsheet.
3. Use the lockbox location address. Please refer to the "Lockbox Location" tab/sheet of the AOS Process Spreadsheet - I cannot be confirming addresses for everyone, that is why the Lockbox Location tab got created for folks to reference and confirm their filing location.
Thank you. I see the lockbox addresses differ based on the shipping method. If I use a money order but send the AOS package via FedEx, should the money order go to the FedEx address, or does it not matter?

Use the mailing address of whichever Lockbox you’re sending your AOS package to.

Hi All. We went to a civil surgeon today and were told that our vaccination records from home country are not acceptable. For some reason, CS told us to go to the department of health and get it translated/transferred into acceptable format. As the alternative, they wanted to give us all of the vaccines as if we never had them, 7 or so shots. Or do titers to confirm immunizations, which would cost even more. We didn't do anything, decided to think about it. Have anyone else done this and should we even bother to try to translate our unreadable records or do we just go to the pharmacy and get all of the required vaccines?

Hello today. Thank you for quickly responding last week. I sent fee for DV.
Now I’m on my way with i485. I saw someone asked about part Public Charge. Question from 61-68. We didn’t receive any benefits from government. Should we fill this part out anyway? For adults and kids?

I had similar as didn’t have the records from my youth.

Chose to get re-vaccinated as the titers was more expensive plus immunity doesn’t always show up if you got the vaccinated as a child and are now middle aged.

Do you have insurance? I ended up getting my vaccinations for free through health insurance provider.

Yes. Every applicant must fill out those sections. Put N/A in the sections that do not apply.

Got it, thanks. I went to the pharmacy and apparently with my insurance I can get all of them at once with no fee. Hope I won't turn into ninja turtle.

Hi Mom. Sorry for more question, should i indicatein that question (public charge question 61) everything for my children the same way as for myself and my husband? and how about the education question 66, and in our family me,husband and two kids, how many household i need to write?
1. Yes, for public charge.
2. I don't know your children's educational level
3. 4

p.s. number your questions when you have more than one per post.

Yes - with the correct amount for each person reflected on the cashier’s check.
thank you so much for answers.
1. G-1145 form we have to use for each one separately?
2. where in the applicant should i write each member separately, or can i write the principal applicant's name?
3. will it be a big problem if we don't have a letter from our place of work?

1. Yes.
2. I don't understand what this question is about.
3. Employment verification letter is one of the items used in demonstrating one is not likely to become a public charge. If you have other means of demonstrating this, not having an employment verification letter will not be an issue.
