DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

When submitting my application I pasted the sample cover letter on the outside of my package (tailored to my case) and included the policy memorandum authorizing for early filling as suggested on the AOS Process Spreadsheet which you should definitely go over a few times
Hi, thanks for the valuable information. One question though. In the sample letter, under the documents to be listed "copy of the Adjustment of Status Notification letter from KCC" is listed. Does everybody get such? Even a derivative?

I believe only one person recieves it (the main applicant) since he/she was the one the entered the DV Lottery (I had no derivatives in my case), probably somebody in the forum can corroborate.

Hi everyone,

Are you also experiencing technical problems to login Dv lottery site to take the winner confirmation letter?

I am checking the site yesterday and today and it’s not working. Do you know where can we get the letter in any other place, maybe KCC?
Or should I wait the site becomes fixed, and how long usually? Because my package is ready apart from that letter

Thanks a lot for replying. I was just curious because (if circumstances allow) my derivative needs to file AoS, while I need to go through CP. Well, with the numbers and present scenario, it might not happen at all. But reading the posts and being aware of how this works is worthwhile. The forums are very helpful. Thanks to all.

Hello everyone!

I've got a quick question: I completed my medical exam on 08/16/2021.

Turns out, effective October 1st, I need to show my COVID-19 vaccination proof to the civil surgeon.

Since I completed my medical exam before October 1st, they didn't ask me for the vaccination proof (I do have my vaccination card if needed).

What do you think, should I redo the I-693 with the COVID requirement or just leave it as is?

My immigration lawyer told me that we don't have to do that but just in case USCIS asks for it, I can do it before the interview in the future.

Thank you in advance!

Well no one checking? And no one knows?

The server is down, I guess(I can't check mine either). It usually takes a couple of days for these stuffs to be fixed, but since it is the holiday season, I doubt that it will be fixed that soon this time. Trying emailing KCC but don't be too optimistic. Also, please make sure you have a soft copy of every document on your local machine and/or cloud to avoid these unforeseen delays... just my two cents. Good luck!

No one’s checking because most selectees, especially those processing AOS already downloaded, printed and saved their selection notification letter (physically and electronically) back from when they found out about their selection, so “one is checking”

The COVID-19 requirement applies to Form I-693 signed by civil surgeons on or after Oct. 1, 2021. If your I-693 for was signed on Aug. 16, 2021, your medical form retains it evidentiary value for 2 years (valid for 2 years) from that date.

Hi everyone!

What do people usually do with certified translations? Are there any websites with templates for different countries and doc types?
Or do people usually do everything themselves in Word or something?

Thanks!

For reference I translated my document using a certified translator. I attached the translated document as well as his "translator certification" with all of his contact information for reference with my package. (All these documents are copies, I am keeping the originals and bringing them to the interview)

Thank you guys for your response The website is fixed

Do you guys submit evidence of financial support?
I was going to include i-134 form. But in the I-485 instruction for dv lottery it is written no need to submit evidence of financial support.

Ps. I am dependent and my husband is phd student. I have ssn, work authorization and master’s degree. But now I am unemployed, I am housewife and I am principal applicant.
do you think if I provide my husbands financial support would be sufficient? Or still my husband needs to complete I-134 form?

Attached your husband's financial documents to both applications: yours and your husband's.

We did the same, including the tax return documents from the IRS site that have my wife's name on them.

Hi everyone,
Could you please help me with these two questions:
1) My wife and I got married after making the dv lottery entry, but before the results were announced. We’ve prepared some evidence of our relationship, such as photographs, flight tickets, apartment lease, etc. Should we include it with our original submission package or do we only have to bring it to the interview?
2) Right now, I am the breadwinner, my wife is in F-2 status and she doesn’t work. I will include my bank statements, pay stubs, etc in my original submission (I am the principal applicant). Do we have to include copies of the same exact documents in my wife’s package? (according to the spreadsheet, no, but I just want to double-check).

The general advice is to provide more documents than less in the applications. Therefore:
1. attach copies of some documents and photos with the marriage certificate. I think the best is to add short descriptions to the photos with dates to demonstrate that you started the relationship long before the DV lottery;
2. it's recommended to include the financial documents into the both applications. We put my documents into my wife's application (I'm the breadwinner) + the tax return with my wife's name from the IRS website.

1. This is not a family based AOS application, you do not need to include any of those documents outside of your marriage certificate. You can take your additional documents with you to your interview.
2. No need to duplicate financial documents if the applications are being mailed together.

That is an overkill, not necessary for a DV based application.
