DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

Got our GCs today! Couldn't have been happier. Should SSN cards arrive later if we chose this option on our forms?
Congratulations!

For the SSN, if you selected the option in the I-485, they will mail it automatically and you should receive it within a couple of weeks from the case approval.
The SSN card should not contain the limitation "Valid for Work Only With DHS Authorization".
Sometimes, however, it happens that they issue the SSN with that limitation.
In such a case, wait a couple of weeks (from the SSN issuance date), and go to a SSA office, to have it replaced with a card without the limitation.

Hi Mom,

I was recently contacted by KCC who sent this:

'KCC has received payment of $330.00 for your case file. You have a case size of 4. Please send the remaining payment or provide a written statement, via email, to KCCDV@state.gov explaining why the additional family member(s) will not be adjusting their status. '

I replied letting them know my family will not be applying only myself.

they responded:

'The beneficiary must go to the embassy at which he or she wishes to process the case and request for the follow-to join process to be initiated. Once requested, the embassy will obtain the necessary documentation from the applicant. The proper procedures will be implemented to ensure that the case is processed accordingly. Entitlement to immigrant status in the DV category lasts only through the end of the fiscal (visa) year for which the applicant is selected in the lottery. The year of entitlement for all applicants registered for the DV-2022 program ends as of September 30, 2022. DV visas may not be issued to DV applicants after that date. Similarly, spouses and children accompanying or following to join DV principals are only entitled to derivative DV status until September 30, 2022. DV visa availability through the very end of Fiscal Year 2022 cannot be taken for granted. Numbers could be exhausted prior to September 30, 2022. In addition, spouses or children acquired after the principal applicant has been approved for the visa must be completed through processing on or before September 30th of the DV program year. Questions pertaining to this situation must be directed to the USCIS at 1-800-375-5283.'

my questions are:

1- Do I need to action anything or is this just letting my know my family will have to apply separately?
2 - Is it likely they have forwarded my case to my FO? i did my bio way back in December so im a bit worried its taking so long.

thanks so much for your help!

1. The information is about your family members (your beneficiaries), you do not need to do anything else if your family members will not be processing as your beneficiaries.
2. Most likely yes, based on their email response which acknowledges they’ve received response the to the email they previously sent to you.

awesome thank you so much!

I will now precede to drink lots of wine to calm my fraying nerves waiting for my interview date.

cheers

@Sm1smom I was thinking... I'm f1 status right now, after sept I can apply for OPT, and if my opt gets rejected because of my prior 485 what would happen to my status if I haven't defended yet and I don't have a pending 485?
So I am trying to sort my options, can I apply for OPT, and if approved go on OPT? if rejected stay F1 ?

Your OPT application shouldn’t be denied on the basis of having a denied AOS application. You remain eligible to apply for OPT as long as you have not violated your F1 status.

Thanks for the clarification.

1. The case is NOT still at the NBC, if it was the FO wouldn’t have acknowledged having the case file. The online agents are tier one agents just like the phone reps - they have written scripts for most queries.
2. Be patient.
Hi Mom,
My wife, who is the principal applicant in our case, contacted a USCIS representative on EMMA live chat and they verified that her case is not yet assigned to a field office for an interview and it is still at NBC now as the attached screenshot says.

However, they offered to initiate a request to get more information on her case and to see if it can be processed ASAP. But, they said the request would go to the FO and they will reply to it as it says in the other screenshot

1). How would the field office give information about the case if NBC still has it?
2). It has been more than 60 days since our bio, is it okay to submit a congressional inquiry after we see the reply to the information request?

1. I already addressed this in my previous response to you.
2. Yes you can do that.

how did you manage to bypass emma and connect to a live agent?

Already there.
You know that no one can read minds? And also the reason mom couldn't find you is not because her "ctrl+f" keys don't work? And the reason she asked for your timeline is to better assist you? So why would you 1. write your timeline in another name, 2. avoid answering by just saying "Already there"? Nonetheless, you're free to do that. But, I'm not the one who comes back here for help when their bio, interview, notification, etc is 5 minutes late. Just say'n . . .

Some update on my case:
Current: June
NOA - June 17
Contacted Live Agent on July 4 - "Interview was scheduled on July 21"
Contacted Live Agent on July 8 - "Interview scheduled, but letter has not been sent yet"
Contacted Live Agent on July 11 - "Live agent did request for ASC letter, should be in my Mailbox within 24 hours, or check your email spam box"
Application at NBC atm according to Live Agent
Current USCIS case status - Fingerprint Fee Was Received

1. I already addressed this in my previous response to you.
2. Yes you can do that.
Thank you, Mom!
Today morning I got the following reply from Albany FO. Maybe I should give it some time before going to the congressman?
Type of service requested:
-- Expedite

The status of this service request is:

On July 8, 2022, you or your representative contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) about your I-485.

Your case has been transferred to the USCIS Albany Field Office. You will be scheduled for an interview when a date and time become available.
