DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

My case arrived on April 25th. I got a Bio appointment for June 22nd, but I did a walk-in on the 13th. Today I contacted USCIS and they said that my case is now at my local field office but I still have not received any interview notice.
Add your timeline to the Timeline Spreadsheet.

Yes, you can email KCC now to find out if your FO already requested your KCC case file (when it was requested and if requested, when it got sent). I doubt you’ll be able to get a Tier 2 agent call back or initiating a USCIS case inquiry outside normal processing time (no harm in trying though). I’ll suggest waiting till the end of July before initiating a congressional inquiry if there’s still no update by then.
good morning mom, no problem, thanks for your response.

Hey! @dv2022gcc was wondering what method of contact did u use to get the info? I have a very similar timelines as you but when I chatted w an officer online a few days ago they said that my case is still at the NBC and not at any of the FO.... I’m so worried, this is also a question for @Sm1smom , is this normal? (I checked past timeline and it seems like for my FO they got their interview notice way before mine, it’s been three weeks.... should I wait? Or should I initiate an inquiry?
The agents often say that, it’s not necessarily true. Be patient for now.

Yes it is under GOMAJ in our current month is April.
Not sure what your reason was for using a different username to update the Timeline Spreadsheet. The problem with using two different usernames is that it can make it difficult for us to provide the right advice/response to questions asked in the forum when we’re not able to see your progress or tie the info together.

Hello and thank you.
The timeline was entered by my husband a few weeks ago . He tried to register and sign in yesterday to post in the forum but was unsuccessful. I posted instead . Sorry for inconvenience and thanks

Dear Mom,

I emailed KCC this morning, and they just replied to me back. I didn't realize that fast...Never mind, what I sent to them is if my FO requested my case file and my wife's case file from KCC. I also attached supporting documents like the I-485 receipt notices, interview letters, marriage certificate, and $660 DV processing fee with the PAID stamp and the selection letter.

But here's the response from KCC"The adjustment of status fee to the Department of State has been paid or indications on your DS-260 show that you wanted to adjust your status in the US. The payment of the adjustment of status fee indicates to KCC that you are residing in the US and wish to process your case at the local USCIS office. As a result, KCC did not continue the processing of your case. Please contact your local USCIS OFFICE."

I also called USCIS customer service this morning, and the agent said she would put a note in my case and hopefully get a notification from the USCIS FO within 5 weeks or soon. So I guess my next step is patiently waiting, right? And as you mentioned before, if there's still no update by the end of July, I can start initiating a congressional inquiry, right?

Btw, we didn't fill out the DS-260. Should we submit one at this point? Thank you.

Today I attempted a bio walk-in at the Philadelphia ASC.

After receiving my bio notice (appointment date on 7/21), I attempted a walk in today 7/8 around 3pm. The lady at the reception asked why I came in today if my appointment isn't until the 21st. After explaining, she said she will speak to the supervisor. The supervisor then came and said they don't accept walk ins and that I would need to come in on the actual appointment date. She said there is nothing else she can do and she is all booked for the day (even though there was literally NO ONE there...). She then proceeded to ask me to leave the facility in a very condescending manner.. SMH

tldr; Tried to walk in for bio; was rejected.

Don't panic over the generic response from KCC. They may still eventually send another response regarding the actual question about the KCC file. There's no need/point in submitting the DS260 form now. So yes, regarding waiting till the end of July before initiating the next step from the beginning of August.

Hello @Sm1smom
I have 2 questions for you and thank you in advance.

1) What happens when IO approves my aos? Do they stick a new visa on my passport or I can travel back to my home country and I will need the green card when returning to the US?

2) For JTF process, what is the first point to initiate the process? Should I inform the IO at my own interview or I should call the USCIS call center when my green card is produced?

1. USCIS does not issue visas. You will need a green card to return, if you want to leave immediately and you are approved on the spot, you can request an i551 stamp in your passport.

2. Answered in FAQs sheet of spreadsheet

I haven't got my KCC fee receipt ($330), and asked the copy of receipt via email which they sent. I added it to my package. I thought it was enough but recently heard that FO can ask for actual receipt during the interview. Would it be an issue in my case?

Thank you but the FAQs doesn't really say who and when to talk to. The links in the FAQ doesn't say it either, it says make sure you notfiy uscis about it. What is the best way to talk to them about it and by which channel? Have a good one.

Let’s assume the FAQs is indeed not clear on what to do, the question is did you take a look at all the listed links - the 9FAM link in particular? You did not come across the below information regarding FTJ in the 9FAM link:?

h. (U) Following-to-Join Applicants:

(1) (U) DV applicants are informed in the electronic notification of how to adjust status to lawful permanent residence in the United States. A principal applicant who has adjusted status may file Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition with USCIS requesting DHS send the Form I-824, upon its adjudication, to consular posts as verification of their LPR status.

Anyways, I suggest you go through the 9FAM link again. Also take a look at the Follow To Join tab/section of the “DV Tracker - Unique Situations” Spreadsheet (link in my signature) to read up on some FTJ updates from some past selectees, the steps they took and how those applications ended up.

Disregard what you recently heard. Print out a copy of the payment receipt you got by email and take it along to your interview.
