DV 2022 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

congrats to everyone here. I was here last year and know how overwhelming this gets. Follow what @Sm1smom is saying she knows this process very well. thanks again @Sm1smom.

1 - question @Sm1smom I got my GC and planing to leave US for few days. I have a pending asylum, that I got before the GC and I was never out of status even before my GC. Do i need advance parole to leave US, although I have GC? I am visiting my wife's country.
You do not need an AP approval in order to travel in and out of the US now that you are are LPR. You only need your GC and your passport to return. The pending asylum case will eventually get denied now that you're already a LPR, you however can (and should write) to USCIS to withdraw the pending application for your peace of mind and to free up resources needed for other cases.

Hello,

I and my family had our interview today in Seattle. The officer was very friendly. Our appointment was at 7:00. We were there at 6:30. They took us inside at 6:45. We took the oath. I was the principal applicant, but the officer thought it was my husband. He said that because his file was so full, he thought he was the principal applicant. I think he got mixed up with the other green card cases. There has been a conversation about it. He was a bit confused too. Then he said, "OK, got it, you won the lottery, you are a DV case." Then he asked three of us yes/no questions. After we finished this section, he inquired about our marriage, how we met, and so on. It was a bit surprising for us because we have been married since 2001. I actually forgot about many things that happened over 20 years ago. But the conversation was very friendly and he got many jokes too. Then he told us everything was great in our case. He just needed to ask if there were available visas for us and then he was going to approve our case in the afternoon. I checked our online accounts at 3:30 and saw "new card is being produced."

I couldn't have done this without the help from this forum, especially @Sm1smom . I was about to hire a lawyer. I paid for it, but at the end of the day I found myself having to educate her about DV cases. It was not about money, it was just not the right person. When I found this forum and Mom, I felt like I was in the right place. I knew which law firm I should have gotten help from if my case got complicated. But everything went very well, and I didn't even need to hire a lawyer. I have no words to express how grateful I am to you. I believe there should be a donation option for this forum. They devote a lot of time and energy to this forum and assist us in a special way. I would be happy to donate to this forum if there was a method to do so.

I updated the spreadsheet. When I get my green card, I will also add to it. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about the process. I hope everything goes well for you too.

Great update. Congratulations :)

Hello all. My case was current in April and I received my bio letter, waiving the biometrics, on April 19th. Since then, I have received no other update at all, not a letter, not an update on the online case status. Is this still normal processing time or should i start to be worried and think in any action like congressional inquiry?

Many thanks

Which FO has jurisdiction over your case?

It is San Antonio, TX
Your case will most likely be approved without an interview (assuming you properly front loaded your AOS package) going by the recent trend/approval reports from fellow San Antonio, TX AOSers. So I would say give it about two more weeks for now, you should hopefully have an update by then.

Thanks for the quick response and help.

Good morning . My case was current in April . My bio appointment was on May 18 , still nothing about interview. I contacted Emma ( live agent ) 2 weeks ago and they said a decision has not been made yet whether they going to request an interview or waive it . I contacted them again yesterday they said USCIS will mail you a notice informing you where and when your scheduled appointment is . Does that mean I will receive an interview letter soon or it's just a generic response.
Thank you

I am in the same boat Bio May 20th same response.

Spent a good 15 minutes trying to get through to a live agent through Emma, finally got one… 51 people in the que, close to one hour waiting, all for them to end the chat before I could ask a follow up question since they didn’t really answer what I was asking. Are they usually this helpful lol…

Generic response.

Hi guys,

Two questions. So for the A-number, I have an old OPT-card I was issued before I went back to school and it has a USCIS #, which I have read online is also the A-number. Should I put it on my forms or is it expired since I am no longer using the card? Secondly, for the educational proof. is a copy of my degree fine or should I, like, print my college record off of my school account or order an official transcript?

Thank you.
