I think that the current Situation. I’m still waiting for more updates. My colleague applied for 140 in late November and got it in mid jan!!
If your details aren’t correct – or you haven’t updated your details can you just copy and paste them int he same format as above and correct it please.

I got the EAD card for me and my wife in mail yesterday.
For those who have .net installed on their machine, I have a utility which will check status from INS servers...
Just copy unzip this to your c:\inetput\wwwroot folder
It will create files in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ins
goto web.config and change the 6th line with your values as
comment - insnumber;comment - insnumber;comment - insnumber;
eg:
<add key="ReceiptNumber" value="Yourname H1B-SRC030175;Wifeaname H4-SRC030;" />
then save it.
then open your web browser and type http://localhost/ins/index.aspx
it will show all your cases in single page. this saves your time to search case by case on INS web site.
have this as your favorite url.

Any one got their I 140 approved recently?
Yes my I-140 was approved on May 13th. I had posted my details in another forum. Anyway, so that you wouldn't have to go searching for the post. I'll post them here briefly. Concurrent filer Dec. 2002. RFE issued at the end of March regarding company ability's to pay. My lawyer had initially submitted financials but BCIS said they appear to be generated in the office and that was not sufficient evidence. So we responded to the RFE just with a letter from the VP saying they had made x amount in gross and net profit and they have the ability to pay the wage from the labor certification. RFE sent, april 15th, received by BCIS on Apr. 21st. Both I-140 and EAD approved on May 13th. Now the painful wait for I-485 has begun. By the way it was labor substitution and category is EB3 - professional.

Same here. I have not received any RFE either
1..My lawyer is saying file I140 first and then go for I-485. in this case 140 is getting approved within 3-4 months. but if we apply for the concurrent processing, it takes more than 8 months for the 140 approval. does it true?
2.Also I am wondering if we can apply 485 anytime after we filed the 140? ie., when 140 is pending , can we apply 485 anytime or have to wait for 140 to be completed?
Since 485 needs medical tests and other proof of documents and it takes some time ,I think it will be much quicker to apply for 140 first, then after a month apply for 485.
Please let me know will that be possible?

I-140 waiting period is same
I-140 has the same waiting time independant of filing together with I-485 or filing separately. Since the queue is dependent on VSC. Just as a backup its advisable to have I-485 filed together, since the wait period on 485 itself is longer.

Another reason to file 140 and 485 together is that sometimes (specially VSC) service centers do not send the 140 receipt or it is lost. It can be a long long wait before you can file 485. It happened to me. My 140 was filed on 10/07/2002 and VSC never sent the receipt. My lawyer send the 485 with the postal receipt and the proof of encashed check. But VSC still returned my file. It is stupid but my lawyer sent back again only to be returned for the second time. And it was sent back for a third time at around 12/24/03 when VSC took mercy on my case and accepted it.
The frustrating part is my lawyer never told me that he and the INS were playing soccer with my 485 file.
So I think 140 and 485 should be filed together to aviod any such possiblility of not receiving a receipt for i140
