just checked my online status. it said Decision Made. in the details, it also indicates that Medical results have been received. so now i can relax a little and wait for the landing papers, right?

you should be getting the request for passport, any day now. i had the same message in my online status and i received my request for passport letter within 3 days. the no.of. days may vary by postal dept. but you should be getting it anytime. be ready with your passport and photos to send it to buffalo, soon. good luck.

Could any one tell me about the points. Does 75 points include 10 points that used to be in the interviewer's hands? or One has to have 75 points to begin with other wise no interview will be called.

thank you for the posting. do i need to send the I-94 along with my passport for the stamping? i just came back from my home country and there is an Advanced Parole stamp (for U.S. immigration purpose) on my I-94. will it have any negative impact on the Canadian passport stamping?

You don't have to worry about your Advance Parole on your passport. Canadian immigration doesn't have anything to do with your US.

My I-94's were stapled to my passport, so I sent it along with it. Take 3 passport photos with a white background. Eckerds is a pretty good place to take them, cheaper than Kinko's or MBE.

I have so many qns, I'll appreciate it if anybody can clear them.

The papers say that my interview will take place at Los Angeles. It says "We will notify when your file has been transferred. The current approximate time until transfer is within 7 to 10 months.
Once we have tranferred your case, the center will send you a letter with time and date for the interview. Please do not schedule your medical exam until you receive your interview date. "


Does that mean that an interview will take place for sure, or are their still chances that it will be waived? Will it really take 7 - 10 months? Does anybody know what is the timeline at the LA centre at present?

I guess I will have to wait for the medicals even though I have them. Has anybody gone thru the same situation, in how much time did they receive the letter will give me a better idea.

I noticed your timeline, You got your medicals done after 6 months, is that after you got a letter from them with details about your interview. Yes, that an interview will take place for sure, and it really take 7 - 10 months(my case 9 months). I got MY medicals done about 2 months before got a letter from them with details about my interview. I think it is better you can take medicals after you get the interview date letter. My interview taken in Seattle and they asked my education and work experience. Such as how long you have been Canada? Please tell me about your education? Please tell me your job? Tell me some thing about your project? What did you do in the project? And some other simple question about your family. You can get some idea from your CAIPS.

I had also applied in Jan2002. A month back ie in Feb 2003 they sent me a letter and the application forms again to resubmitt my apllication again or they will consider whatever records in my appln as currently in status. I think they sent it bacz of the fact that I had sent them couple of updates about my new born baby to add in and my current change in residence ( country) . So they might be asking for fresh appplns. Has anybody else got this request.??

What is this CAIPS ?? Can I apply for it??? What will be the advantage??

Hi azee_t,

The 10 point which used to be in visa officer's hand was no longer there under the new rules. You have to have a minimum of 75 points for you application to pass through.

Check the web site. cic. gc.ca to get the details of each points in each category.

As of latest point system i have only 72 (Since not married, relation in Cananda,no degree from Canada) and old system i have more than pass mark. I don't know which one they will consider. Do you have any idea?
