I applied in Feb 2002. got the file number in May2002. It seems that our cases are similar. This is where i m confused too.
As per the new points rules we have to have 75 points in order to Qualify. I have 70 points.
In the past there were 10 points in the interviewer's hands. so as per the old rules if you have 60 points out of 70 they would call your interview.
now at their web site they have not mentioned about the those 10 points in the inviewer's hands. if they still have those 10 points then we will be called in for the inteview other wise not.

I received a response from the consulate that my application was approved and the interview was waived. I had applied on Jan4.2002 and received my file number on april 15th 2002

I got my approval last week. I had 78 points. I had a question about landing.Is it true that they take away the landing papers and I-94 when you enter canada to get the PR card , as a result of which you have to stay in canada until you get the PR card and hence cannot reenter the US

Hi, there!

Finally I got it!!

I had received my passport with Visa stamp and COPR in the morning three days ago , then taken one hour driver to Canadian border for landing. Today went to HRDC in Downtown Vancouver apply for my SIN Number.

Congrats alee, are you planning to re enter the US once you apply for your PR card? Do you have to stay in canada until you get it?

i applied on Jan 18th 2002 and not yet got a reply, instead they have sent me the new set of forms to refill as per the new regulations and if i dont send them in 90 days they will consider my case based on the info they have, i am worried abt this, just want to know abt ur exp as u applied nearly the same time as me, appreciate ur help, take care and good luck tara :)

I my case I went through lawyers and they sent me the new forms in advance last yr which I filled and sent back to them and hence I was not asked to refill any forms.

i needed another advise , i have down my education in english do i still need to do a toefel or are they accepting that if i have studied in English is it enough, thanks for ur best wishes tara good luck to u in canada :)
 
Hi tara,
In my case since I had done my MS here and toefl is a requirement for that , I didn't have to re take it. If you can show that your medium of instruction is english and if you had also studied in the US it indirectly add strength to the fact that you know english well. Having said that I am not sure how the new system deals with it. I guess you have to wait and see how they assess it and if you do have to take it you might have to do the IELS test and not TOEFL

My online status showed Decision Made on March 22, 2003 but I have yet gotten the letter.

Got Approval/Request for Passport

Hello-

I have applied in Sept 2001 at Buffallo, USA.
Got File # in Dec, 2001.
Got Medical Forms in Sept 2002 with out Interview
Done Medical in Oct 2002 & Re-medical (Chest X-ray) for my wife in Jan 2003.
Got approval/Request to send Passports on 31st MArch, 03.

Hello- Online Status Info

I think if any ones Online Status has been changed to Decision made then he may recieve a letter for an Interview etc as one of my freind recieved that. Although in previous letter to him it was mentioned that go for medical etc etc & your interview is waived but after going through for medicals in Oct, 02 his status was changed in Jan, 03 to Decision made & in three days he got a letter that he needs to attend interview :( .
For me I recieved letter that I need to send passport for visa stamping but my online status is still "In Process".

I applied in May 2002 and got the File Number in Oct 31 2002.Seeing that they are working on Jan 2002 I expect to receive assesment in July 2003.
