you must have applied in 2002 if it's only 54 weeks since you applied. need not worry yet. it's currently taking longer.

else it's over 100 weeks and you should ask for CAIPS notes from your file.

hi,

what is this phone number through which you can check your status? i applied in the U.S. and got my file number in Oct 2001 , did my medicals in July 2002 but have not heard of anything yet. i am desparate to talk to someone in the immigration office about the delay of my case.

what does your online status check say? if you haven't already checked that. unfortunately, CIC has stopped allowing people to call in to check their application status through phone, unless something was reintroduced again. i beleive, the telephone facility was removed as of march or april 2002. you can either write them a letter or send them a fax message. you have to be persistent in doing that too. send in a letter or a fax and wait for 3 weeks or so. if you dont hear back, write them or fax them again. the mailing adderss and the fax no. are in the buffalo consulate website. good luck with your process, thanks.

i started sending inquiry faxes to the Buffalo office since Nov. 2002, one fax each month, but still no news. but you are definitely right saying we have to keep doing this. i will send them a fax again.

also, does anyone know if i can pay a lawyer to check out the status and reason for delay for me?

Ask for CAIPS notes (stands for 'Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System').

If you have a friend or relative in canada it will only cost you $5 CDN$. Else you can use some services - I just ordered through http://www.caipsnotes.com - they charge about $45 CDN$ or US$ 30 that includes the fees and mialing costs.

They sound pretty ligt ahve good will from other psots. They even have the to-it yourself kit if you have friends and relatives.

If you check both our timelies.. thy are more or less the same.. i hav also sent my medicals on July 15, 2002 and not heard anything...........till recently. When they asked for updated FBI prints and bank statement.. they gave me 60 days to send them.. I got new ones and sent it to them last week... hope they process it fast now... My online status has been showing InProcess for ever..

I don't understand the long queue in Buffalo

it's been so long for the queue in Buffalo... i believe everybody around the world applied at the Buffalo Office...

that will really make the process really really slow because the files keep on piling up...


waiting fo 8 months right after the medical is too much... i suggest that you should request for CAIPS or inquire for the reason for the delay of the application...


let us know what they say to you...

in my own view, at the rate things are going on it seems that it will take us 3 YEARS to complete everything.
 
Time after medical

It is true that now a days Buffalo Consulate is taking too much time in completing the entire process. I have found from Buffaol trackker list that 4 persons are waiting for their turn to send their passport(Waiting Period>=6 months). Last week I received new forms from CIC Buffalo. So it seems something is moving out there. Let us hope for the best.

thank you, Idmello for noticing the similarities between our two cases. about one month ago when i learned that your medicals was also sent on 7/15/02 but had heard of nothing, at one point i believed that all the medicals arriving on that day were lost, until i checked with fedex in Dec. 2002 who assured me by giving me the name of the officer who signed the package that the mail was indeed delivered to the office.

per another friend's advice, i just ordered a copy of CAIPS today. hopefully i will have some info in about one month.

Could any one tell me about the points. Does 75 points include 10 points that used to be in the interviewer's hands? or One has to have 75 points other no interview will be called.

When you mention File# date, is it the date you receive the file no. date or the date printed on the receipt of application?

hi,

it is the date that is written at the receipt.
AOR(Acknowledgement of Receipt)...
