Hi LDmello,

The law says that...
"for those who applied before Dec 31, 2001 and a selection Decesion is not made by March 31 2003, then the new
law will apply with the pass marks of 70" What does "Selection Decesion" Mean?

To me "Selection Decision" means initial assessment, which we already got.

Will I be re-assessed with the new law if I do not get a decision by March 31?

They have already assessed our passmark with the old system. Now its the medical, which we are waiting for. Passmark assessment is already over. So dont worry: Nobody will be reassessed again.

What the other guys think, let me know as well...

Hi Megb,

Actually I started my canadian PR in year 2001 and my company agreed to support me on US GC in year 2002. So yes both are concurrently running. Lets see how it goes....

What happened about the Tracking of files? When do they get updated?? I can see the history of all Nov 2001 files. Anybody who has applied in December 2001 who cleared it?? Pls let the board know !

I can't wait for the Assessment

It has been difficult to live in the US... very very tough, my family will not survive... that's why I am taking chances to migrate to Canada.

i have a question, what does the 6 months wait after receiving medical form... the 6 months wait before doing the medical...

i thought that as soon as you get the form you can take your medical immediately...

it takes a long time... i can't wait to get the assessment...
it seems that only few people got the landing papers...

how come nobody from Dec - Jan has had the initial assessment... if you do please update the tracker...

Ya, It is Surprising that Nobody from Dec - Jan 2002 has had an intial assesment yet.


I had applied in first week on Jan still waiting to be assemesed.

If you get your assessment and it says to wait 6 months, then you wait six months after you get your assessment.

Some are asked 6 months and some 60 days. Not sure how they base this, depends on country of origin I guess...

So, if you didn't get your assessment yet, you may be asked to submit medicals within 60 days instead of 6 months..

6 month wait before medical

It has nothing to do with the country of origin. This wait is because of the backlog of applications, so that they can provide you a visa and landing papers in time 1.e before the expiry of your medical results.

So the waiting time for all those who will be getting their assessment in future will be 6 months instead of 60 days. So prepare your plans accordingly.

Actually during that period I was preparing for competitive exams

I need your help, recently I received my initial assesment and I have the following questions... please answer

1. My medicals refer to old address.... do I need to send a mail
asking for change of address....?
2. Sent a fax reg. new born baby, but they have not updated my
records and I have not received medicals for the baby.
I did not send any check.. do I need to send a check for
update..... how much...?
3. Do I need to send ROLF asap, or is it ok if I send when I submit
my medicals as I was asked to wait for six months for the
medicals
4. Can I use fedex to send mail....

Hello venkatram,

You should fill the gap by stating exactly what you were doing during the gap period, i.e. preparing for exams.

In my applicaton I had a gap of about one month of un-employment and one month towards getting admission to an university.

From the tracker update it appears that the cases where the medicals were submitted during October 2002, are being processed currently.

Hi venkatram

I agreed with skm005, write exactly what you were doing at that time. You should also send your ROLF along with your remaining documents. You can't send it along with your medical forms as medical results will be submitted by your Doctor not you. Moreover, the medical results goes to a different place rather than to Buffalo.

For the new born baby and address change, send your reminder via fax and certified letter.

Hey venkatram,

You should have send $100.00 (CAN) along with the application for your new born child. Thats trhe application fee for processing.
