Hello All-
Any one who need to go for medical be very carefull in telling your medical history to the Physician. As much detail you give to him as much you need to prove that you are healthy. For proofs you may need to go for many additional tests etc...so be care full !!!!!

I was asked to resubmit the FBI clearance. So I am waiting for that.
I got my assessment around Dec 5th, however I don't intend to wait for 6 months for my medical. In my assessment letter they warned against doing medicals early because the medical would expire. However I still intend to get it done in March, as I might have to leave the country after that.

I received the initial assessment letter which has waived the interview process.
Date Applied Nov 16 2001
Receipt Date Jan 1 2002
Assessment received Dec 20 2002
However I am required to re-submit my FBI forms and send in an updated copy of 1) Reco letters from current employer 2) Bank Statements.
I had written to the FBI on 20th Dec 2002 and am yet to receive their forms now. I guess there is a delay due to the holiday season. In the past when I had requested the forms I had got them within a timeframe of 10 days. Also it says on my application that I have to submit FBI forms and 1) and 2) within the next 90 days for my application to be valid. I hope to complete this by the next month depending on receipt of the forms.
My questions pertains to the medical forms. It clearly says that I have to wait for 6 months from the date on the form to complete that procedure. However due to the downsizing operations of my entire group here I expect not be in status in the US beyond May 2003 [which is roughly 5 months from the date]. Can I complete the medicals before that? Is anybody else in a similar situation?

I just applied for Canadian PR. Can I request for police clearance from FBI before getting any request from Buffalo office or should I wait. I am asking cuz they mentioned not to request police clearance certificate from USA until visa officer advice to do so. What I have to do to get clearance certificate? I will appreciate any information on this.

Please HELP!!!!!
I need this info !!urgent!! as one of my friend got initial assessment and is supposed to send $1250.00 ROLF....in a week before the 90 days dead line for additional documents along with ROLF submission to Candian Immigration......
His US GC is in I485 ( 3rd month running ). He plans to have only the US GC and NOT Canadian PR. Can he send the money ( ROLF ) now and request a refund from Canadian Immigration after he feels safe in US due to the AC21 ( 180 Day Rule ) ?
How much time will we have after Canadian immigration approval ....to accept the Candian PR ? Well!! do we really have any choice any where...whether to accept or reject the Canadian PR ? Will they refund the ROLF as we didn't really land there ?
Pls. do let me know. Kinda mind boggling....

I think the total fee for 2 person will be $1270 instead of $1250.
In the old application kit which I used to fill the application, they mentioned that they will refund the landing fee, if one decided not to land in canada.
The validy of visa remain for one year from the date of medical.
So your friend can pay the fees now, wait for his GC. Then decide whether to go or not. If not, get it refunded.

I am from India working in US on H1-B.
1. Send the application for permanent residence on August 22, 2001.
2.started processing application on November 01, 2001.
3. sent a letter on July 22, 2002 about the decision on my application (Requested some information Regarding my current employment ).
4. No Interview & Recieved mediacal forms on Aug 2002(Have time limmit of 60 Days).
5. Done Medical on Sep 10 2002.
6. Received a letter on Dec 07 2002 requesting the passports for visa stamping with in the 30 days from the date of the letter.
