ROLF

I got a letter from Buffalo asking for
1. Bank Statement
2. Experience letter from current employer

Also it says that I am sentthe ROLF along with the above docs.

Should I send the fee now or can I send it at a latter date?
 
Hi 140,
They will not send you the landing papers till you have sent them all the needed docs. So send it all at once It shouldn't take you more than a day, if your employer is cooperative.

Could somebody let me know the steps involved to get the landing papers after you get your file number.

How long does it usually take till to the final stage?

What are the additional documents I need to send during the process?

Will it effect to change the employer in US?

What will happen to my case, if I move to India?

Can the medical be done in India without transfering the case?

How long is it taking for the indian cases?

I will be very thankful, if somebody can assist me here.

it takes from 14 -36months based on the country u r applying
if ur applying from US it will take 14 months maximum , if interview is not required

Bank statements , employment verification letters and paystubs(if they specifically ask u send otherwise dont send)

No ..not at all .But if u can update ,if they ask u for employement verification letter

What will happen to my case, if I move to India?

Needs to transfer the file to india.

1) if u moved to india , if interview is waived u can take medical from india and u can tell them u are vacation
2) if u moved to india , if interview is required , u have to attend the interview at filling country(US) , otherwise transfer the file to india.. But it is taking long time now days .

Can the medical be done in India without transfering the case?

Don't worry about any thing if you are moving to india except you need to appear before counsellor in US if called for Interview. Rest is fine. In case you are called for interview then you need to transfer your case to India.

i submitted my medical 3 month back after my interview at detroit but still waiting for landing paper.kindly share ur experience about this post at detroit after interview and medical exam.i

and How was the interview. Did they ask anything special, etc/

I got the assessment yesterday (12/14/2002).

Interview waived, asking for the following docs :

1. Police Certificate

2. Paystubs from current employer, W-2 .

3 Ceritfied True copy of the letter of reference detailing my past and present employement.

4 Updated bank statement.


My question is:
For the medicals,it was given as:

"Do not complete your medicals untill 6 months from the date of this letter. If you complete your medicals too soon, you may be required to redo them due to their expiration"

But they did not check the detail mentioning the medical forms. They had send the medical forms.I don't know whether it is applicable for me or not.They had just checked the "Additional Documents Required" and mentioned the required documents in a separate paper.
Does that mean I am given medicals and can do them after 6 months? Or will they give me the decision after sending them the required documents?

I think this is the standard statement that they are including for most people for whom the interivew has been waived. So it does apply to you as well. Just sent the other papers as quickly as you can.

I agree with satishjha that they are sending a standard form for everyone. Thats what I got as well. But One can do medical with their own risk of its expiration. Its not a verd hard rule. If it won't expire before you get your landing papers, you will be lucky. Otherwise have to do it again and waste more time and money....

Here is update on my case and few questionf for experts.

AOR: Dec 04, 2001
Medicals Recd: Dec 14, 2002

Interview waived

I was not asked for any documents like other applicant. They ticked on "No documents required".

Here are my questions for experts:

1) How much time i can take to send medicals? How long is the approval valid. I have applied Canada GC as back up for my US gc processing. I have currently filed I-140/485 together. In 2 or 3 months, i am expecting I-140 approval and getting work permit.
And also I am allowed to change job after 6 months.
I am thinking to whether spend another $1500 for me and m y wife for Landing fee and Medicals

2) How much medical's cost per person? Do they require vaccinations also? For INS medicals it costed me and my wife $200 each including vaccinations.

3) We had a child during canadian gc processing. She is 3 months old (and US citizen). Do i need to take canadian gc for her also incase if we have to move there in future? I am under impression that US citizens can live in canada without visa and vice versa.

Jalma, Thanks for updating tracker on Friday although I was very busy last week.

Thanks for all of your wishes. As you know that I have received my medical last week.
But, now after a week I have received a separate letter from Consulate that, "we can not do the background checks on your wife and your son. We are unable to track residential history from May 2000. We have stopped all the processing on your app. Please sends us the proofs of esidential history or other proofs. Please send all the required documentation in one single mail."

So, this is something new for all of us. I am on H1 here and my wife and son are on H4 visa. The funniest thing is my son arrived in US on 11/2000 which is already mentioned in form and I94. And he is only 4Yr. old. I didn't have my wife's and his name added on my house lease during that time period.

But unfortunately my wife had driving license and also auto insurance coverage. I think that will work for her.

Now for my son, I don't have much proof. But I have Health insurance bills and letter from his school. I think this will also work fro him.

I just wanted to share this with other guys who may have filed papers to canada, that do not discard any bank statements, letter envelops that you recd on your wife's or son's name. Or add their names to lease papers. All this documents will help in the case like this.

Any one of us who has time can update the tracker.

Let me tell you, you are not the only one who got this letter. I also received letter saying that some of my residencial history and work history of myself and my wife were missing in my initial application because of which they can't do any background check.

I think what they are asking is: where your wife and son are staying after the indicated date. I don't think you have to send any documentary evidence. Just give residential address of your wife and son and work history of your wife, if asked. Signed the letter and send it to them. Thats what I did for me and my wife.

Well if they asked documentary evidence than better send it. They will do the background check by their own. They did'nt ask any proof from us. Let me know if anything is not clear.

The time to get your medical done should be written on your initial assessment form. The medical is valid for only 1 year

The cost of the medical varies from Doctor to Doctor. So call the Doctor in your area from the enclosed list and ask their price. I think the range is $250-300/adult and $75-100/child.

US citizen can stay in canada without visa only to a certain period of time (Time period, I don't know), You have to apply for her if you decided to move there. I don't know the procedure though.....how it goes???
