yes you can do some research in these forums...people have applied. some got approved in PERM. DOL has no conditions as of now to say one will be canceled if the two are pending....

why not DOL has taken back their words on multiple fillings. File another case with a different designation. For that I believe you would have to go through the whole PERM adv etc...again....
