Miising Application
You should be fine if you have a receipt for your application.
My friends have been through missing application situations but not for so long. Send a an application with the letter from USCIS with a cover letter saying since you can't find my application, I am sending a...
your journey
Hi Akbari,
I have followed your posts since I saw you on the longest wait thread.
If you don't mind, can you post some details ans important landmarks in your long journey.
I have 3 copies for multiple entry AP. There is no limit on the number of times you can travel with the multiple enrty AP within the time specified on the document. It is a year for pending 485.
When I reentered the second time, the officer cancelled the first stamp and put a new one next to...
You should always get 3 copies of the AP. They are all identical.
You need all three while reetering the country.
The immigration officer will stamp one of them when you reenter.
He/She will return all three copies to you.
The last time I travelled was in May and I haven't heard of any...
Neither me nor any of my friends got LUD for AC21.

You will need the EAD to work, even after 180 days, unless you have a GC by then.
The application fees are $170 plus $30 for pictures, Fedex etc. If you save a few months time on it, it really won't add up to too much money.
USCIS takes around 2 months to process these anyway.
Also...
APPLY FOR EAD immediately !!!
This is a no brainer.
Legally you should wait for 180 days or till you get your Green card whichever is sooner. Check with an attorney.
Good luck
H1B and AP
You can certainly transfer H1B's while your I485 is pending.
Make sure you have finished 180 days after the I485 receipt date so that you are eligible for AC21.
Also, you should reenter with the H1B that you are currently using. That means you should return and work for the...
