when is the right time to come back to the US on a B1/B2 visa..

I see your point. But why are you saying that it would be "tough to justify" a temporary stay for a us citizen's immediate relative? Maybe that parent does not want to live here in US, and just wants to visit his/her kids from time to time. When kids have their kids, they may want to help a bit...

when is the right time to come back to the US on a B1/B2 visa..

Not to seem judgmental, but both cases have a little suspicious factor, especially the second one. I am a US Citizen and planning on applying for green card for both my parents. This will be my father's second long stay. First time he stayed for 4 months and this time for 6 months. We only...

I know you respond to a lot of posts here. Have you ever came across cases like mine where a refusal of re-entry happened?

when is the right time to come back to the US on a B1/B2 visa..

Thanks for clarifying. Do you think a letter from us will be of any help of why he is coming back so soon? Or is it better to get him a one time extension of I-94?

when is the right time to come back to the US on a B1/B2 visa..

Disagree With all due respect, I partially disagree with you on this. I am in a similar situation with my parents who are helping us with the baby. They take turns to come and help us with our 2 y.o. We are in a temporary situation where we have to live separately from each other. So, our...

Multiple states residency - where to apply

Thanks a million! I did read about this somewhere, but was not sure about it. We do file federal taxes from Florida. Again, this is our home. It is our house. Her residency is temporary and we chose to file other state's taxes as non-resident. She spends her time off and vacations here at home...

    Applying for I-130 for spouse

On top of lazycis's valuable advice, I'll add that if you file the i-130 before you get your naturalization certificate you are going to complicate the entire process. Not sure if your wife is here in US. If she is here, then you will not be able to file other forms at that point. Your I-130...

    N-400 Electronic Filing (e-filing)

The website you indicated is probably a scam. Be careful. You might end up loosing way more then your money. I've come across websites that promise you help with citizenship. All a scam. For this matter, only websites ending in .gov are legit. Also, this forum is a HUGE help.

Got an online msg "request for additional evidence sent"

Nobody is going to tell you that. You have to wait and then send them whatever they want. That's exactly what happened to me. I sent everything to them and here am getting the RFE. It's not a big deal (hopefully).

    InfoPass

Creagan, sorry to hear your bad experience. I hope you'll get more responses here. I read on this forum that people in simillar situation to yours have tried some other perseverent ways to get things done; like writing letters to their congressman or senator, or even writing to the president's...

Using old F1 visa but new I20 to reenter U.S

Why would you go for an interview if you have a visa to enter in the US? If asked, just tell the customs officer that you transferred to another school. Also, make sure you get your I-20 stamped by your school's DSO and have the permission to leave the country.

I-485 Question - GC for spouse - Gurus please help

Brother, no offense, but you don't need to start a new thread for each of your questions. You have a better chance to get all of your questions answered if you just stick to one thread.

Help From Those Who Have Concurrently Filed I-130 and I-485

Just one little advice: Since some forms are expired (I-765) you might want to put a big sticker with big letters saying something like "please do not reject this form since it's the latest available version". Some people complaint that their applications were rejected because of this...

Is it possible to transfer the I-130 between service centers?

Luna13, I don't think there is much you can do in this case. You've done the most important thing you had to. Now, you have to wait. By the way, years will pass before a visa will become available for your son. I think once you become a USC it'll go much faster wih your i-130.

Is it possible to transfer the I-130 between service centers?

You should update your address in the USCIS system. Once you do that, they'll automatically transfer your case to a respective service center. Go to the uscis.gov website and file an update for change of address. Or you can call them.

Got my passport in about one week. Same for the nat certificate (received in the same shape it was shipped). The on-line tracking system still says they don't have records of my application.
