Hello,

I'm considering paying the $129.00 and filling electronically but not sure if it's worth paying hte extra money. Does anyone have experience with e-filling? Does it speed up the process and bring any advantages?

Thanks in advance!

You cannot e-file N-400, application for naturalization. You will have to send a filled out form by mail to USCIS.

I really want to know where you get your informayion from,Who told you that you can e-file N-400 and wondering where $129.00 number has came from.
It's amazing.

Well, I saw this website and they provide e-filling services. not sure who is the sponsor:

http://www.uscitizenship.info/

any idea?

Now I get it. This is not e-file with the government, this is a private company that charges you for helping you fill out the N-400 form. I am not sure exactly what they do, but at the end the application will be sent in paper, not electronically. I think $129 is expensive for something you can fill out yourself. You can download the N-400 pdf, fill it out, save it, make changes, print it, fix some other things, print it again. What I mean is that filling it out for yourself is not hard and you can correct things if you see some mistake when you print the form.

By the way, this would be $129 on top of what a N-400 cost nowadays.

Thanks guys!

Just another quick question on the eligibility date. I become eligible to apply on Oct 31 so is that the date the mail should be post marked by the post office or the date DHS receives the application? I know it does not make much difference but hey if I can save 2 days why not?

thanks

The website you indicated is probably a scam. Be careful. You might end up loosing way more then your money. I've come across websites that promise you help with citizenship. All a scam. For this matter, only websites ending in .gov are legit. Also, this forum is a HUGE help.

Thanks guys!

Send it a couple of days later. Your IO officer may make a mistake when adding up the days and you may be left out in the cold. Wait at least until November 5th and only then file. That's how I would do it anyway.

Yes, it's better to be conservative about counting the 90 days before your 5 year GC anniversary. Don't sign, date or mail the application earlier than 90 days before the 5 year anniversary, and to be safe I would count 85 days and not 90. Really 5 days don't make a big difference in the overall processing time and it will give you peace of mind that the IO won't make a mistake counting the days. 5 days gives you good margin of error.

My 2 cents.

Thanks guys!

Does the Oct 31st date factor in the 90 days before your 5 year LPR anniversary or does Oct 31st mark the 5 year point?
