Applying for I-130 for spouse

1) How soon should we file I-130 for our spouse? (My oath date is in two weeks) Will it delay things a lot if I do it later than sooner, or the processing time is the same?

2) There are a ton of info on this forum on how to prepare for N400 and the interview, but I can't find extensive info on I-130 (application preparation, what to bring to interview, what's consulate processing, etc.) Are there any threads I should look at? Should I get a lawyer for this?

Thank you.

Look in different section for I-130 threads:

I do not think a lawyer is required, it's fairly simple. I would file for I-130 after an oath. Check this link for procedures/docs:

On top of lazycis's valuable advice, I'll add that if you file the i-130 before you get your naturalization certificate you are going to complicate the entire process. Not sure if your wife is here in US. If she is here, then you will not be able to file other forms at that point. Your I-130 will be based on a GC status, which does not make a visa available right-a-way. You'll also have to wait for the I-130 approval before you can file any other documents (I-485, I-765 etc.) If she is not in US, then you'll have to go through the update process for the I-130; from GC based to USC based status. Based on what people write about the update process, it does not look like it's a quick thing do be done.

So, just wait till you get your naturalization certificate and then file for her.

Good luck.
