If you looked carefully on the seats behind you in the room you will find USC as well. This has nothing to do with status, it is the similarity between names which will stay even after citizenship till the name of the other person is dropped from the list by certain way or the other add to that...
Look at the I-485, if she pay $395 or so then she should pay the EAD fees, if in the I485 the fees was more than 1000, then the EAD is free. In another words, if she pay EADfees last time, she will pay the fees every time she will renew the EAD whatever the date of application was.
Last entry...
Keep your head up and do not let yourself pray to frustration. Apply for MTR and explain the situation, you are almost there. Follow the instructions of the letter in your hand, listen to the lawyer but take the safe action even if it cost you extra money.
Congratulation! As stated before the RFE for your I485 reset the clock again to day 1 after your response received by the USCIS. The EAD will not be issued unless the response is received and accepted by the USCIS and this is very logic/
If you have current PD and you are within the range of processing time, RFE MAY be a good sign. If this is not the case, respond to the RFE and forget about it.
This is a common question for those with an issue (long overseas staying, secondary inspection, ……etc) thinking that one port of entry is easier than the other. It is not, computer system is connected in all ports and the level of training for those officers is the same.
For TB you do skin test only (no blood test, blood for other tests) if it is positive, you have to do chest X-ray and the x ray should be "normal". The skin test take 2-3 days. what I did, I did the skin test in a clinic and I did also the x ray in case the test is positive. I took the test...
Support from relative, parents, spouse, friend, generous unrelated person is just fine. If you study is also OK. What is not fine and MAY adversely affect the application is not to have any proof of any legal income whatsoever for years and years and the only argument is "this is a free country...
For sure the application, approval and denial are regulated by law and any one can go to the court if his application is denied and obviously a third party can also go to the court if someone was granted a citizenship which seems a burden to the system from the opinion of the third party. Many...
You have to respond by the time on the letter. Shop around for early apointment even if it cost you more driving, send the medicals by overnight delivery. I think few days late will not be major problem. It happened to my family, I just walked in the clinic and was lucky to do the exam in the...
This is a frank abandonment of your I-485. Without H you have to come and stay in US by Aug 08 and stay till the new AP is issued (September 09). Entering the country with that AP is not an excuse but on the other hand may be a problem for you.
The USCIS do not consider in spouses relations but certified marriage, no fiancee, no girl or boy friend ......etc. For USC to bring a spouse it take ~9 months, for GC holder it takes ~ 5 years
What he/she told you is right. The time is variable depending on many factors but in the qverage it take 2 weeks. Obviously, there are exceptions few in couple days and others stuck pending for ever (stories in this forum take ~ 1 year)
Yes this is a free country, and the USCIS is also free to grant a citizenship to whoever supposes to be beneficiary to the US to some degree not just a burden to a system already about to collapse. Millions out there are uninsured, millions unemployed, millions live on the welfare…...etc. The...
