My 2.5 cents
Sorry was not aware of the effort going on here. Thanks ayan for pointing me in this direction.
So far the groundswell has not resulted in any action. I think we should cash this effort in whatever way we can, regardless of what lawyers think whether there is a provision or not.
Here are my suggestions
1. We should form Non Profit Organizations in each affected state. Costs about 100$ to incorporate one. Association of applicants still waiting for green card- or something similar. This association can have chapter in all the states and can coordinate policies, petitions etc.
2. Collect petitions/affidavits from all the applicants authorizing the office bearers of this org to appeal to the director about the pending case.
3. We can hire: professional lobbyist, lawyer and writer to do all the background work.
4. Send a letter in this association's letter head requesting a meeting with the SC director. Send letters to local congress persons, senators and meet them all in a professional setup. If we can Coordinate the day and time it should be possible- yes all of them should be met on the same day.
If you want to make an effort, do it the american way- do it big and loud.
To this effort, If you all think we can do something together, I pledge my initial 500$ . Come on. Enough with writing individual petitions. Let us take this to the next level. I will try to keep this thread under watch for more responses.
Dont give up- yet.
