Waiting Asylum decision

Louis…nobody on this forum is attorney or AO. Everybody is giving their opinion. The opinion I gave is my personal opinion as I said basis on my personal information, knowledge and study. I cannot give you the specific examples but yes I know some people had the same situation and got referral. So don’t be aggressive, as I said that it depends upon the case. And the simple point to understand is that if they reopened your file, it means they want to investigate something that differs with something you told. Otherwise there was no need to change the status.
I am not spreading disinformation, but based on my experience, it’s a little bit bad sign but as I said if everything goes well during review, case can be approved. I didn’t talk specifically about your case. I shared my opinion in general. So try be respectful and respect the opinion of others. You have a right to disagree but you cannot say that this is a disinformation. As Asylee11 also verified my point.

My uncle did his asylum interview 5+ years ago and no updates. We inquired several times, congressman, Ombudsman, they kept giving standard responses like pending or background check. Tried expediting, begging, nothing.
Recently the online status changed from "Application is pending" to "Decision is pending". Does anyone know what this could be? I usually read about the status changing the other way around.

From what I read it seems you were talking about the change from "Decision is pending" to "Application is pending" and you said that it could be due to a red flag. But what about the case where change is from "Application is pending" to "Decision is pending"? Thanks in advance.
It means your case review and investigation is completed. Now possibly you will get approval, provided that they didn’t find anything suspicious, inconsistency or wrong in your case.please share your update if you get the decision.

Bro as i always support your posts but this time you told him possibly he could get approval which can give him high hopes then shit happens so the best things to not give people high hopes or negative energy in the same time as i said many folks got approved after that and many others got rejected so he/she won't get sure until he/she sees fees were waived or decision was mailed without fees are waived !
How contradictory the statements are. No body knows how USCIS makes or adjudicate asylum applications. Folk do not make your minds blow with random thoughts and comments . What is meant to happen will happen.
Stay positive keep praying.
Some Experienced people got experience/ knowledge/ by reading comments/ coulums and of course research as we are all now reading about each others situations. And trying digging what will happen to this guy next…… observing….

Yesterday a Nepali my co worker”S brother reach out to me to ask my lawyer info. as their “application pending” for 3.9 years wait turned into mid November 2023 “decision pending”
December 27 received their referral letter.
FOLKS EVERYONE IS BROKEN INSIDE DO NOT PREDICT JUST WISH EVERY GOOD LUCK.

I will not talk about anybody else. But it’s not easy to start commenting. If I am commenting, anybody can see my comments and opinion, if I said to somebody about his/her situation that exactly happened. Anyways, you are most welcome, if you can comment, share your expertise, start it right away.
Thank you for appreciation. I Hope and pray everybody will get positive decision. My case is done already. Everything including GC completed. I am here just to help and support others who are upset and depressed and give them a positive hope, otherwise who cares and spare the time for others.
I simply and respectively asked you to provide your references, and I am still asking for that, especially for percentages, how you came up with these percentages and predictions?!! Based on what??!! Don't tell me experience and observation since you are neither an attorney nor an asylum officer! Based on what you link the status of "application is pending" to an action of reopening and investigating the case? while, the same thing could happen when status is "decision is pending" too.
How you happen to know exactly what could have been done by uscis under that status while my experienced attorney (35+ years) doesn't know and answered my question with the following "Honestly, I have seen these weird changes with other clients and it can be various things that they do not disclose to us. But definitely does not mean a “bad sign”. Let’s hope to receive something soon because they have not been making any decisions lately"
BTW. I am a researcher and when I claim something it has to be based on statistics.
And for your information so you can correct your percentages, I did go back in search within the entire Forum and tracked back all people who shared posts with similar situation of that status change and guess what nearly all of them got eventually approved. Also, I know as someone yesterday posted here that this Forum may represent only 2% of asylum cases filed; however, if we take it as a sample to analyze the situation then definitely the numbers you claimed are way off.

We appreciate your efforts bro and respect wasting time here even though you’re done same as me i got my GC already and here to help people but if i have one advice to anyone it would be don’t put too much hopes for approval and don’t think negatively and think you will be denied!!! Until the status of your case officially changed to fees were waived or decision was mailed then nothing is guaranteed and it’s 50/50 chance.
