I don’t know if this is must or not! however, typically they generate a new ead one or two days before sending the decision. USCIS is not generally predictable and I recommend wait until to get the notice. I hope you get a positive outcome!
When status changes from Decision Pending to Decision was Mailed, 100% it means your case is referred to court. Wait until you receive the notice and then let me know that am I right?

If your decision was pending and they issued you EAD and then your status changed as Decision was Mailed, then definitely, you will get referral.

You are not right! when USCIS grants you asylum they a generate a new EAD card based on your new status. Please don’t spread misinformation!
When somebody granted asylum, status changes as "fee were waived", but if this status not shows before they mailed the decision , it means that EAD issued under category C8. My friend, this is not misinformation. But let's see and wait for your letter. Please must share the status when you receive the decision.

they don’t generate a new EAD if you are not yet granted. ThEy only generate EAD when you are status changes. C08 is for pending Asylum and when you case referred to court there is reason to generate a new EAD.
I have a friend of mine whose status turned from the interview was scheduled” to “decision was milled,” and then after a day, it turned into “fees was waived.”
You can try to add your asylum receipt number to your online account, and it should work if you’re approved within a day or two after the “decision was mailed”. Good luck!

Ohh I also did FOIA for Interview note, they sent all ques and answers but didn't find anything about decision clue.
Right after the interview (Aug 23 2023) I had the EAD renewal status changed to "we are actively reviewing your case". Today I received a letter EAD "approved in C8 category" for 5 years. I'm assuming they gonna refer my case to court. Welp. No changes on the asylum case itself tho, but I wont hold my breath

Don't worry! I don't think your case is reffered to court yet! EADs are processed on a diffrerent departments
No, it doesn’t mean that your case will be referred to court. Your case is still under review. If your case approved, they will issue new EAD category A5.
