AP LUDs

I got LUDs on my AP case 07/17/06 and 07/18/06. No approval yet. I don't know whats happening. Also, no news on EAD after they received reply to the RFE.
 
I-485 Status

I just called USCiS no 1-800-375-5283 to get status of my I-485. I asked if my finger printing and Name check was cleared. The lady refused to give me any status and told me to call again after 60 days. Does this this mean that I am stuck at name check or coming closer to approval.? I had first LUD on my I-485 on April 23 2006 immediately after finger printing and last two LUD on 28th and 29th June 2006 and nothing after that.

Labor approval date: OCT 2005
I140 receipt date:Nov 2005
I140 approval date:Jan 2006
I-485/131/765 receipt date:March 06, 2006
I-131/765 approval date: April 2006
Finger printing completed: April 22, 2006
I-485 LUD: April 23, June 28 & 29, 2006
I-485 Status: ? (contact after two months -reply from USCIS)

am I Close to approval?

My guess, all those who got 2 more LUDs after FP LUD, are cleared of their all security checks but without visa numbers they can not adjudicate. And mostly all those LUDs are for Indian members.

Luds

Luds can be related any activity (even regular system maintenence) that touches your case. After carefully reading the majority of the posts related to luds, I have come to the conclusion that they do not indicate much, except that some system or person touched your case. There are plenty of cases were there were no luds before approval and the cases were approved, and there are plenty of cases were there are a multitude of luds and no approval. In addition, I got two luds after the typical two luds related to FP; however, my name check has not cleared.

The big hurdle for many of us is the FBI name check. That is really why we are so keen to understand the luds. Basically, were fear of getting lost in the name check black hole and we are hoping that any lud we get is going to be related to the clearance of the name check. Unfortunatley, luds can be related to anything and may not even occur for name check. As a result, I have given-up on luds.

Yes, a Lud will still put a smile on my face. But this is simply because the Lud indicates that my case has not gotten lost in some black hole.

Yep.. I think it was pretty retarded for the folks around here with a two month old applications to call in a pester them with questions.

If it is less then 180 days from submission - do no call. Sky is not falling on you.

Agree, we should not call them if our case is just pending for a few months. Too many such calls disrupt the officers' work.

I had called to check the status of my in-law's cases, which have been pending for over 4 years. Since I happened to talk to a nice lady, I went ahead and asked her about my own case too. This doen't mean, I encourage people to call US CIS for their recently filed cases. What are your timelines?
