Processing time for green card based on asylum

Hi Guys. I got Good news. My status for i-485 changed to New Card is being produced, on May 15 and to Case approved on May 16. Guys dont lose hope. My Case is a MSC239 series
And just to share timelines:
Granted Asylum March 2022
Applied for Green Card April 19 2023
New Card Ordered May 15 2023
Case Approved May 16 2023.

The advice I can give here is you should file your i-485 with everything. medical, i94, etc. Just put all they ask for so you dont get into issues of RFE. And yes you need luck. You need God

But there are people who sent all their documents including medical and waiting for more than 12-24 months, also there are people who sent their medical in RFE and received their GC approval in between 6-12 months. Yes you are right it’s all based on Luck ! You are so lucky and wish you all the best .

Congratulations but with all of my respect to you there’s something not right here you either expedited it due to joining the US army or something serious but i see it impossible to get a gc in one month through asylum but again many congrats if that’s true!

I did not expedite. I Just put my stuff together plus I paid a lawyer to put things together. Using a lawyer adds some weight to the case. But Yes I applied last month and approval is in less than a month!!

Im not in the army. Nothing special about me. Probably just luck and God's blessings. I also think USCIS is now using the LIFO basis (especially on properly put together files) to meet their targets.

Good luck to you all mates.

Then congratulations i guess you got the fastest GC approval ever through asylum! That’s epic for real!

congratulations!!!
LIFO has not always been the case with USCIS unfortunately. There are thousands of officers who exercise their prerogative and have different thousands of applications. Many of us have filed with lawyers and are waiting still; many of us didn't file with lawyers and already got theirs hahaha. And it's true about the RFE, the timeline is so random and sometimes so many cases filed without the medial then get a RFE are approved even before the cases that filed alongside medical and had full documentation. :D it's great and I am so happy for you!!!! everybody here deserves a quick turnaround, but I just want to make sure nobody bases their timeline on anyone else's even if all elements of the application, attorney included, are the same. It's not a fair system unfortunately!

My asylum was approved 2 days after my interview and my application was not particularly strong or "put together."
I did not have a lawyer, for instance. For the green card, I did have a lawyer and I also had a very solid application that is "well-put" together.
I hope everybody here realizes that not having their GC approved within a fast period of time does not mean there is anything wrong with their application or that they are not "well-put" together. There is so much more than this and so much more beyond our control. The absurdity of the system can be good for some and bad for others. This said, I am so happy for you!! :D :D

You can’t join army without green card or be a citizen which clearly none of us are.

Yeah but you can apply for it and in the final step for submitting your documents you tell them you are pending GC and they will refuse to let you join so you take this refusal and expedite your GC as it’s National benefit hmm I personally know someone did that and got his gc in 49 days last year and he joint the army in less than 4 months!

for anyone still worried about comparing their application status to others in their own range/month, please don't. there is no rule and no way to know when/why/how these things happen. Someone who got their application approved way before you is not a better applicant/application. I urge everyone to stop comparing their application timeline to others, and I ask others who got accepted to not speculate and not guess/provide an explanation that justifies their acceptance. It's unfair, inaccurate, and it gives false hopes and futile anxiety for others. For those of us who are still refusing to believe this, kindly see the below link

this is for all MSC239 applications in the pipeline so far. You will see that the majority of applications are still being processed (fingerprinted or pending or RFE), even for the earliest applications. Even the very first range shows less than 50% of the submitted applications have been approved so far, and the others are fingerprinted or RFE status. And that's the earliest ranges. You will also see that some ranges that come later happen to have a higher % of approval so far, which is 100% fine. It does not mean anything. It does not mean there is something wrong or that this is how things should happen at all. I urge you to see how the majority of applications are still not approved in so many of these ranges, regardless of the order.

It’s completely random , there are several people in this forum FY2023 applicants passed 6months processing time already and still haven’t got any updates . I understand that agency has announced that by end of 2023 , their goal is to adjudicate all the cases within 6month of filling but I don’t build any hopes in what they say . I personally used to see fast processing time when I used to check case numbers in my ranges .now is barely moving and goes very slow. So it’s unpredictable and random .

Congrats to all people who got their approval

I couldn’t agree more.

100% agree and if it means something it means USCIS is the worst federal agency in this country! Worst immigration agency in the first world countries!!!! You never see this waiting times or random selections in Europe or canada or Australia.

In the UK they get their PR card once their asylum gets approved, they don’t wait like us.

I know and also same In germany! Only in US they like to torture the asylees for some reason! And just imagine if trump comes back either or a republican president comes next which will happen most likely!!!! Hopefully everyone on this fourm get their Greencards before a new administration comes cause a lot of changes gonna happen for the worst for sure.
