And just imagine if trump comes back either or a republican president comes next which will happen most likely!!!! Hopefully everyone on this fourm get their Greencards before a new administration comes cause a lot of changes gonna happen for the worst for sure.

Those of us here are still very lucky to be here, even if the GC is not in our hands yet. "Torture" is a hard word - I know we escaped dangerous conditions but we were lucky enough to be able to come here and cross the borders without being separated from our families at the border, or being deported or not being admitted. What we are "going through" here is nothing compared to tens of thousands of asylum seeker on the Southern border. Even without the GC, we can stay and work indefinitely in this country and we don't need to worry about that at all. Not them. They were born into worse conditions and did not have the means or luck to enter this country on a visa or apply for asylum comfortably like we did. We are way better off than these poor families and individuals, and they have been trying for years and years, without even feeling the least bit secure and safe. I know hard work pays off, but we are also very very lucky we had the means and the resources to reach where we are now - these people are dreaming of what we already and some of us are complaining about how hard it is for us. I hope everybody here realizes how lucky they are.

Well said. My kid came in 9th grade in high school in 2014 and now works a famous IT company with high salary. It's incredible if we were still in original country. I work in hospital as an interpreter which is impossible to find a job in my age back to the original one.

Anyone aware how long it takes to get the Case approved after submitting the medicals after receiving RFE from the NBC?

It varies . Typically few weeks to 2 months if they start working on your case right away after they receive your response to RFE. Sometimes they stop working on it because of unknown different reasons and it may take longer . How long after submitting your application your have received RFE ?

it could take some days and it could take some weeks or months, unfortunately :/ they can resume or pause work on your application for no apparent reason, and it doesn't mean there's anything wrong in your application. Don't worry! :D Nobody really knows; it's so hard and annoying, I feel you; but all we can do is submit is wait. Hopefully they will resume working on yours and approve it within a short period of time :D let us know how it goes! :D

Hopefully!!! But i heard asylum cases after RFE take 1-2 months or less to get approved hmm from my understanding and search i got that the cases that took months were The marriage cases and Eb-2 cases cause they still review the case and evidence but for asylum ones the case is almost approved but can’t do that without submitting the medical first!

There are thousands of Asylum-based I-485 every month handled by thousands of employees, each employee has their own factors and decisions and processes and absurd stuff hahhaha; there's really no golden rule or standard. We definitely hope the RFE means you're very close to it; sometimes it takes way less than 1 month, sometimes it takes way more. My other piece of advice is that researching too much, while very tempting (trust me, I have been there hahahaha), will leave you more anxious and disappointed in case your timeline doesn't fit what you saw. Trust me, even if it does not fit what you saw, you're in great shape! :D

Then congratulations i guess you got the fastest GC approval ever through asylum! That’s epic for real!
I got the card yesterday!!! Very thankful. I did not expect to get through this fast. I applied for Asylum in December 2019 and my things even first got lost and later bounced coz i missed putting N/A! So i got receipt notice after 5 months...imagine. but I got my Asylum Interview March 2022....and now May 23 I have my Green Card! so it took less than a month to have GC approved!!! this is super exciting! I will take some wine this weekend :p. (no offence to the non takers). But on a serious note I wish victory to everyone going through the wait and we hope that your cases will all be approved!! Do not give up hope. cheers

Hello everyone!

I was granted asylum last year, on April 2022, by the Immigration Court in Michigan. I filed my asylum application this year and mailed it to the USCIS Chicago office. Three weeks later, I got a rejection letter stating that the EOIR had terminated removal proceedings in my case. My I-485 application was returned to me as well. Attached is a copy of the letter sent by the USCIS. I’m confused about this and need your help. Do you think the filing address is incorrect?

Thank you!
