Processing time for green card based on asylum

Hello everyone!

I was granted asylum last year, on April 2022, by the Immigration Court in Michigan. I filed my asylum application this year and mailed it to the USCIS Chicago office. Three weeks later, I got a rejection letter stating that the EOIR had terminated removal proceedings in my case. My I-485 application was returned to me as well. Attached is a copy of the letter sent by the USCIS. I’m confused about this and need your help. Do you think the filing address is incorrect?

Thank you!
if you applied for asylum again instead of a GC, it makes sense you'd receive a rejection letter. you already were granted asylum - and that's what the rejection letter seems to say. Since you already cannot be removed thanks to asylum status last year, your 2nd application is obsolete.
Did you mean to apply to the GC?

Thank you for your reply, Abla87.

This year I applied for my I-485 (Green Card). I applied for asylum in 2015 and was interviewed by the asylum office in 2021. I was referred to the immigration court and got asylum approval in April 2022.

Hello, all!

I hope all of you are doing amazing. I just received the approval for my I-485 application, also known as the Green Card, today! I feel incredibly lucky and overwhelmed to have it approved in less time than I had estimated.

I hope all of you get this done soon as well .
Great news! Congratulations!

Curious question: does anyone know if there is a specific time when the Case status updates online? I check mine once every Friday morning only, haha. Do they update the status at a specific time? or randomly, in everyone's experience?

Yeah most likely after 2pm cause I found about the RFE and RTD status updates around 2:30/3pm

Gc was approved on Friday at 10 am. Rtd was approved at 11:30 pm, rfe notification was received at 6:30 pm. It varies but when I check notification texts, mostly afternoon hours.

I called them, but nobody responded. I had to see an immigration attorney. She said she need to send a letter to the USCIS so they update their system, as I had my asylum approval in the court. She thinks USCIS still can't see that I was granted asylum in their system. She also said this process may take 2-3 months.

I have this situation with my EAD. Year ago I got approved, right now I have work permit until June 2024. But last week Potomac service center sent me e letter which saying we denied your application for work authorization at this time. I don’t understand what’s going on. Do someone had or have this issue?

Come on!!! I been waiting for 9 months now and it’s all fine !!! Only very few got it in 6 months but asylee greencards usually takes from 8-15 months lately so you might have long way ahead so don’t panic!
