New York City Transfers

Transfer to local offices occur randomly. They are not selective in this. People with AC21, or Laidoff or even having other problems get approved without getting transferred locally

If your question is aimed at, getting it transferred and later approved without interview, as Johar said you can't do that.

What i am trying to say is my case was transfered so quickley from vsc to nyc
i have seen people waiting years then get transfered.
I wanted to know if there is other people out there that got transfered to nyc
and they were approved by recieving the approval letter and just went in
for stamping.

In the reason for Transfer (If you received any transfer notice or online status) says it is to schedule an Interview most of the cases they do schedule interview. But if it not saying so, I am not sure how I would look at it.

This is the letter i recieved what will you make of it in regards to my prior post

"On November 5 2004 we transfered your i485 application to register
permanent residence or to adjust status to an office in new york.
ny for processing.Our office in new york ,ny will send you a written decision
as soon as processing is complete.

Most probably:
Next you will be getting a letter for finger prints
then interview letter or they both may come together.
Then approval or wait due to many reasons posted on the forum

My and my wife case transfer to newyork local office for interview on 3rd of february But in December 04 i changed my address i file AR 11 and call to 800 # but they send the notice to my old address luckly i got the notice from my old address. Now i am woundering where i am going to get interview letter on my new address or my old address.

Q 1 Can i forward my mail to new address
Q 2 Do i need to go newyork local office to change my address
Q 3 is there and phone # for newyork local office


any help will be appriciated

You can call the 1800 number and tell them that you have changed the address and you also sent a copy of AR11 already, but no changes yet.

They will update the address immediately
 
Interview Letter Recd

Dear Fellas,

Today I received interview letter for myself and spouse. The interview is scheduled for April 5th 2005 at Federal Plaza.

I also have received FP notice schduled for March 4th 2005 in some other office.

My 1st FP was done in Sept 2004, is it normal to get FP notice before interview?

For documents, the fax says see attachment but there no attachment.

Let me give some more info about my case.

ND : Sept 2003.
TD : Oct 2004.
Interview : Apr 5th 2005.
EB2 , Employment based. Filed AC21.

Hope you all get your interview letters soon.

Good to hear that!! Keeps the rest of us (waiting for ITD) from getting pessimistic.

Mine is closer to your dates.However, no applications cases are same.

It does not say anything about Interview. But in most cases they transfer locally to enable the local office to call people for an interview. If they have to approve without interview they will do it from the center itself. The reason is after the Interview they file has to go to the Service Center for further processing like Cards etc. So they will not send your files just to approve and get the files back for further processing.

Expect that you will get an Interview. Wish you good luck..

Do you , or any other guys in this forum think, that once the trasfer message states no interview, but just that they would send a written decision, could that possibly mean that , the name check, and fbi check is compleated for that person, that is the reason they have this kind of different message
 
I am not sure how to interpret this personly i think it could be vsc is trying to avoid more of a back log and just transfer the case.Its strange to see the
case transferd so quickley according to my laywer.
keep in mind i have a history with immigration so they have my fingerprints
and name check done years ago,but my wife does not and she is the primary
applicant.who knows?
anywere my petioner has a good relationship with the local congressman
He put in a request to check status of the case although my lawer said
its a waste of time.
