Yes, actually in the past years it happened to me to have the EAD delayed by processing, but when I received the EAD was dated back , so that here was no gap.
Well, at this point I am waiting for the EAD renewal, but I was hoping it will not affect the interview letter (although both requests went to the same place, I wouldn't be surprised to get an RFE on I485 for EAD..the worst of pessimism..). Well, it's been 10 months from the transfer date, and over 2 years since applying the I485, no interview notice yet.
 
Transfer to New York

Guys,

I am joining the club of NY transfers. Yesterday I got 4 emails, boom, it was a transfer instead of approval. Email says transferred to New York, NY, does that mean NYC or Garden City ?.

Any estimate of getting the interview letter and interview ?.

Please also tell me if I can apply my ead / ap to VSC ?.

:( It is puzzling for me the interval of time VSC takes for these transfers: some are transferred after one year, others 1 1/2, others 2 years.
The NYC interview experience also varies.
Maybe you will be lucky and with the backlog reduction plan, you will be called for an interview sooner. My VSC RD is 06/02/2002 and TD to NYC 09/26/2003. But I didn't have the second FP, and didn't receive an interview letter...yet.
I sent the EAD renewal to NYC, together with complete documentation including a copy of the transfer notice. Golden advice: send for your EAD renewal at least!! 3 months in advance.

I called CIS customer service and they said NY is processing RD 05/06/2002 and you should be called for interview with in few months. It doesn't seem to be true as people are waiting for interview letter for over a year.
BTW, What kind case you have ?

NYC transfers

I 485, EB3, Labor case.
Well, I hope you are right and the NYC transfers will be solved sooner.

I am just surprized that there are so few cases of NYC transfers listed in this forum.
 
Need info about my interview date

hi how are you.
I love this area, and i live in NYc. These are my info>
I applied for I-485 and received/priority date was 10.18.02 (notice date was Feb 24, 2004 - there was told to go do fingerprinting and biometrics. Which was done in april. I am confused as to where I should look for my green card interview. I am checking nyc office, it says may 2002 and i called BCIS and they said that my application is at national center (i think Missouri) but that center doesn't have any current I-485 dates so I need to look at my local nyc office. Also this month, the local nyc office time hasn't changed(july). Please tell me what is going on with my stuff.

I received interviewed letter yesterday 7/16 which is my birthday for interview date of 8/16 at 26 Federal Plaza, the letter also required me redo the fringerprints and medical. My case was transferred 10/10/03 to MSC.

I hope i get an interview date.
*Question for everyone, even though my case is at Missouri, will it be transferred to NYC office for more processing? Or will I get a direct appointment date from MSC?

my scheduled FP date is this Fri 7/23.
My RD is 3/21/02, ND is 4/9/02, EB3, 245i
3 EAD, but the 3rd EAD still hasn't received, I renewed 2/4/04 with efilling.

The interviewed letter was sent from 26 Federal Plaza, so I believe MSC will send back our file to local for them to schedule our interview date.

My online message says that my case is transferred to New York, NY on 07/12/04. Is it going to be transferred to NY or MSC ?
 
Could I think there is a little logic in the NYC dates?
The posted NYC processing date refers to RD at VSC or the Regional Center, and not to the transfer date.
The transfer date has no significance, NYC is processing the I485 files in the order they were initially received by the Regional Center, and not the order they were received by NYC.
(Example: lgwait has a RD 02/21/2002, but TD 10/2003, interview letter 07/16/2004.
I have RD 06/02/2002, but TD 09/26/2003, no interview letter yet).
There are also cases (noori, lgwait) that have renewed EAD pending, the old EAD expired, but still received interview letter.
 
Time to get physical greencard

Does anybody know how long it takes to receive the physical card after receiving the approval (and getting the passport stamped) at the interview? Am still waiting for mine.

3. Did you receive any online message saying your case been transferred to NY and NY office will send you letter for scheduling interview appointment?

Yes, the online message updated when my case transferred from VSC to MSC, and from that there is no more change, thus I don't know when the case was transferred back to NYC until I got the letter.

So your online message did not update, it did not mention they schedulled an interview and sent you a letter? You just found out by receiving the physical letter by mail? So the website is not always accurate..

Since my case was transferred 19 months ago,it never changed.I've received 2nd FP notice and interview appointment but it still says the same thing:"On january 6 2003 we transferred your I485 application to our office in NY/NY for them scheduling and conduct your interview...bla,bla,bla....."
So,"case transferred notice is my last message on website."
 
Yes, I agree with Tata2003. once your case got transferred to the local, you can not check the online message anymore.

Approximately: Tata2003 has a RD 02/02 and lgwait 03/02..and you received your interview letters at an interval of less than one month apart.
It looks like the TD date did not count at all.
Could you reenter your letter and interview date and location?
I wish you both the best of luck and I wish you will get your passport stamped at the interview.
Please, don't forget to write about your interview experience.
