That is the correct ID. Just sent them a request to make this a "sticky" and if possible provinde a "sticky" link in the consular and all 4 center's 485 forums. Would be good if someone can follow up in about 2 days if it is not done.

Did anyone get chance to see the First draft of the letter. PLease do it so we can make a decision and on the same day all of us can send the letters to our corresponding Senators.

I used the link sent by Sandeep_N for Aila web site where you can send a letter to your congressmen / senators / Represnetative. I would highly recommend that all of us should do that as well to send an electronic copy of our request. Then we can also send a letter by USPS mail also

Actually deleted my message after I saw that Rsada had already posted the link. Saurabh, the only problem with the AILA thing is that it does not address our issue. So it is imperative that we edit the content of the e-mail to reflect the retrogression problem and send. Might as well use the draft that you generated for that

I had actually sent the email using that system and got the automated response from one of the senators that they received it. Alsthough it is not addressing much of Retrogression, but that stuff was atleast asking for the support of Secure America bill. I beleive we should wait for one more weak and then send out the letters and email to the senators of our local congressional districts. Hoping that some senators will read our request and go ahead and support that bill.

Guys I urge you to please review the draft and post your comments too.

Guys,

AILA's letter for "Support the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005, S. 1033/H.R. 2330" is more focussing on illegal/undocumented workers, adjustment of status for illegal workers and way to legalize them. This is major issue of debate for number of Senators/Congressman who may not want to support this move as they do not want amnesty who broke laws and they believe this will not solve border security issues and will not stop incoming flow of illegal immigration.

To be honest, we really don't care whether they support above issues or not. The huge bill includes number of other measures on immigration related matters besides solution for illegals. I think we need to stress on our problems which is absolutely legitimate and valid: retrgression solution for tech professionals, recapture of unused immigrant visas, increase employment based immigrant visa numbers to 290k or more and (may be direct adjustment for H1B workers who worked / paid taxes for 4 years as they suggested for illegal workers but we may decide to do this sometime later in another letter).

So bottomline is we need to address our employment-based immigrantion related issues and may indicate that part in the bill and thats why we support this bill. So even in the case, they don't agree on illegal issues, there is slight possibility that they may pass the bill with other measures or may introduce another bill that addresses our issues.

Just my 2 cents...

Not by past experience.... When the bill for the nurses came, there were provisions for general EB3 which got removed at the committee level. In this case also the increase in visa numbers is just a subtopic which can be watered down if we do not raise it. We need to edit and put our personal stuff in the e-mails indicating our problem - not that of illegal immigrants.
 
100% Agree.

We need to draft a very good letter. I already requested to GCBy2010. I hope to receive a draft from him in a day or two. If someone else has drafted a letter, please post.

Hey Srini,

The strange thing is no one took any actoin in reviewing and updating the letter so I beleive we should go ahead and start using the same letter and modify a lottle bit and sent it. WHat do you suggest.
