July 2005 AOR..buffalo timeline...

Hi all,

Tracy, you can post your information on this thread and zad will update the webpage.

You don't have to worry about IELTS since your fiancee is American born (i.e. his native language is English). This is an excerpt from OP6 - Skilled worke (i.e. operational manual for immigration):

"...strongly advise taking a test from an approved organization if English and/or French is not the applicant's native language..."

Since he got the AOR, I assume they accepted his proof of English skills.

...but take it as my personal feeling.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Although you all probably already know, the landing fee has been reduced to 490$. You can read more here:

Cheers,
Gerula

just got back...

hi all! sorry for the late response...

Gerula
sure...your wish is my command. :) i've updated the list and also added another column for "IELTS Submitted".

welcome Linie! my AOR is just a day ahead of you. :) did you have to take the IELTS test because you were requested by CIC to do so? if so, when did they request it? do you mind giving us more details on your app? please check on our timeline list (see my signature).

Tracy
hi! as what G had already said, all you'll need to do is post your fiance's timeline here and i will update the webpage. i sure wish that we can have an interactive site like yogi's...oh well.

hey SPCE94...haven't heard from you. any news from your end? did you submit your fbi/police clearance yet?

hope we all hear some good news soon...

Hi All

Gerula...thanks for the info...I had no idea that they reduced the landing fee. Super!

Zad..here is my (my fiances) timeline:

App type: SW
Location: USA
Origin: USA
App date: June 2005
AOR date: July 2005

I didn't include the maritial status...as that's obvious.

Looks like linie and I have the exact same AOR date. Should be interesting to follow.

Hi Tracy!

Thanks for the info. I've updated the webpage. Just wondering, do you know if your fiance has submitted his FBI/police clearance? if so, when? I did mine together with my initial app and just to play safe, in case they ask for it again, i had requested for another FBI clearance last week. They do take anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks to process...too long!!!

Hi Zad,

Yes, we sent the FBI clearance with our initial application as well. How long are they usually valid?

Hi Tracy!

they are valid for 6 months. i was really debating whether to apply for another FBI clearance since I've been told by others who had received their IAs that they weren't asked to resubmit a FBI clearance. But I've also read in other forums that people were asked for it again. i guess i just wanted to play safe...with the long wait and all for such a clearance, i just thought that having it ready when and if the time comes that Buffalo requests for it would be worth spending the extra money. :p Gerula did not submit it along with the initial app...i did because i thought that we had to. oh well...

something to lift our spirits up with all this waiting game...

hey G!

have you visited yogi's site? mircea, a romanian in Canada, like you, applied last April and got her visa this month. wasn't that lightning speed fast? i hope your app goes as smoothly...wishing all of ours would too! :D

Hey Zad,

I agree with you, I think we had to include the FBI clearance with our applications. I do remember, though, that the procedure was different depending on where you were applying from. That probably also explains why some people are asked to resubmit. And as we all know, sometimes it all just depends on the person processing your application. It makes absolutely no sense to me why they would ask for a FBI clearance up front and set a validity period of only six months...knowing full well there is a queue of 36 weeks...go figure...I guess we just wait to see where the cards fall.

It took us about 7 weeks to get the clearance. That seems like FOREVER ago.

i was kind of hoping that we'd hear something after 36 weeks...it's been 41 weeks now and still nothing. i'm thinking i should email them and request for a status update...scared that they might have sent something and i never received it...like add'l docs request or even IELTS. other people have had their apps denied after patiently waiting. the reason being, buffalo says they requested for add'l docs, etc. though the applicants never received such a letter. i'll wait for a while...might email next week.

Zad,

Let us know how it goes if you decide to email for a status update. I worry also, that something will go wrong...it is such a waiting game. It would be awful to have to start all over!

Hi all,

Thanks Z. Vaccation was great....Cuba....

Welcome linie! Did they ask you for IELTS? If yes, when?

Z and all, I would have a suggestion for the timeline website: how about adding a column for the type of application? (i.e. SW, spousal or whatever).

Cheers,
Gerula

HI, Sorry for the late reply.
Yes, I(actually my husband) was asked to provide ILTES in Aug. 2005, right after I got the FN.

My application type is skilled worker; My husband and I applied together, while he is the principal applicant:)

Hi, Zad,

Have you sent email to Buffola? Let us know what reply you are going to
receive.

Here, I post more information according to your list:
type: SW
location: Canada
Origin: China
Marital Stutas: Married
Application date: June 2005
AOR: July 2005
IELTS requested: Aug. 2005
IELTS submitted: Dec. 2005
Fingerprinting: May 2005 and now waiting for the RCMP clearence result.

Now, waiting....

Hi all,

Zad: I saw Yogi's site and the Romanian guy performance..We always come first... Unfortunately, there are only 2 timelines with AOR Apr 2005 (there's another guy Sam from Ethiopia)...so my guess is that we still have a long time to wait...People with March 05 AOR are still posting on Yogi's website. On the other hand I seen people with AORs in april and even may being solved, but...

I still maintain my previous 'forecast': people in our group will start to see things moving arround end of August - beginning of September (2006).

About my clearance: I didn't submit clearance when I applied because it was not necessarry in that stage. I never been to USA so I wouldn't need FBI clearance. Instead I need RCMP clearance from Canada which will be requested (to me) by CIC at the time of IA. I'll probably do it couple of months earlier than my expected time for IA. Sorry if I got into too much detail with this.

About missing letters, IELTS requests and so on....
This is my biggest fear..definetely. This would be the main reason I would contact them.

Zad if you decide to right them: Good luck. I'm not sure if you have a chance to stir the waters in a positive (i.e. your file will be brought somehow to attention, I mean you'll have a confirmation that it is not missing) or negative (i.e. you'll stress the CIC people without reason ...without reason for them) way. But, of course, if the pressure is too big...go for it.

Cheers to all,
Gerula

Hi all!

I will definitely let you all know what happens should i decide to email them...thinking i will do it this Friday. I understand your point, G. I don't want to "stress" them but aside from all these worries and fears that we all feel, i am also sending them an email to find out if they ever received all 3 documents i sent (on different occasions). i just hope that they would reply.

do any of you check your eCAS status? if so, how often do you do it?

linie: thanks for posting your timeline. i think you meant may 2006 for your RCMP?...will update our webpage.

Hi,

I used to check the online status quite often...say every two days. Now I slowed down...once a month.

As I said Z, my biggest fear is that they sent the IELTS request and I didn't get it....I'll live with it for a while. When we changed our address (I used the regular mail form) they reacted quite good. I think it took them 3 weeks to update the online status since we sent the form.

Cheers to all,
Gerula

Hi G!

I've only checked my eCAS once last year...but since March of this year, I've done it every month...getting antsy is what it is. ;)

We didn't start checking eCAS until the 36 weeks was up. Since then I started checking it fairly often ...say every couple days...but that is bound to change. I get tired of seeing the same thing. :)

i've read in other forums that eCAS gets updated every Monday and Tuesday...still waiting to send email...hoping our online status gets updated soon...with an approval!!! :D

My timeline

Location: USA
Origin: India (actually, also from SPCE college of Engg. just like spce94mech -- I am '94 civil)
Application date: Jun 11, 2005
AOR date: Jun 28, 2005
The letter said they were processing applications received 36 weeks ago.
IELTS requested on: Jul 15, 2005
IELTS submitted on: Aug 21, 2005

No correspondence since then!
I just got police clearance certificates and I am going to mail it in a day or two.

Iit currently seems to be taking exactly 11 months to receive initial assessment. A friend of mine had an AOR date of May 12, 2005 and he received interview waiver on April 12, 2005. Another guy who submitted in Mar 2005 received his IA in Feb 2006. Our cases should get transferred to the local consulate pretty soon. I am hoping to hear back from them by June 1, 2006. But I may be wrong too -- the LA consulate is currently processing applications with AOR date of February.

Welcome Shanx! (are you "sneel" from the workincanada forum?) glad to see you here. :) did you submit your FBI clearance? if so, when? or are you sending it together with your PCC?
