IR5 entry from India for parents

Did anyone produced a cancelled flight ticket to the USA to show intent of travel in the interim period during the time of the interview citing covid restrictions or any other related cause as the reason for expiry of visa?

My parents were in a similar situation. Their PCC was approved but didn't receive the letter by mail yet. Their visa renewal got approved.

The embassy staff understands the situation with PCC and may ask you to send the PCC by drop box when it arrives.
 
Has anyone here tried to schedule an appointment for documents qualified late last year or early this year. I am referring to fresh IR5 case.

Does embassy accept PCC as valid for 2 years? Our PCC is ezpiring in Sept. wondering if we should apply for new PCC even if we dont have a appointment scheduled yet.
 
Any body got medical done at Apollo Gandhinagar only on appointment confirmation letter for renewal of IR5 visa?

It is always better to apply for new PCC to avoid last minute tensions
 
One question to those who got their visa's renewed. Did you receive a "Visa Packet" along with the passports when it got stamped? A printed instruction sheet that the consulate gave mentioned it, but when my parents received the passports, there was no sealed Visa Packet with it. Any idea?

Also do you have to pay the Immigrant fee prior to leaving for US?

Does the visa have an annotation saying “IV docs in CCD”? If so the visa packet is electronic and they won’t get a brown envelope.

preferable to pay the fee before, but not mandatory. However plastic green card will not be printed until the fee is paid.

IR5 parents DQ Jan 2020 (priority date Sept 2018), May 2021 interview cancelled due to corona. Got email (Aug 8, 2021) after inquiry to reschedule under expedited IV option. What time of day do the slots open? Right now no appointments available after selecting various options on the website.
 
My parents also received a letter to schedule an appointment. However, there are no slots at the moment. For those who successfully got an appointment, can you please shed some light on at what time of the day you booked the slot and any other tips?

My wife and I got our IR5 visa renewed.

Thanks to all the group members for their support and timely updates



Our interviewer was a guy with a good sense of humour. His only question was how many people live in my son's property, I replied that he lives by himself in his apartment

Whether their visa expired and got notice for reissue?Or fresh one?
If it is reissue then what date their visa expired?
For appointment login and and check 3 to 4 times aday It is luck by chance
 
Our flight Is on Friday early morning so is it OK if we get our Rtpcr done on Tuesday? How do they check validity? Do they check again at USA?We are flying to Delhi from ahemdabad on Thursday and delhi to Dubai Friday 4 a.m. and dubai to newark.so when we should get our rtpcr done?
