Immigrants return back to Indian, China to find prosperity

The point was that the middle class here can really afford a decent life. That's comparable only to Western Europe.
In developing countries that's not possible yet.
.

Are you kidding me?. Isn't that the meaning of a 'middle-class'.

Poeple who can afford at lest the basic and moderate necessities. They do not need a certain per capita to be classified in to that category. Now I know there will be a google enthusiast bringing up the word by word definition, slightly different than this.

In the US, the middle-class is shrinking. Denying it right ?.
India has over 350 Million people in the middle-class and growing(more than the population of the entire USA), Per capita for the country and for the low segmant of this middle class may be still low right?. THEN AGAIN SO WHAT ????. That is why Walmart and all other giants are there , to get piece of this pie. The market in the US is virtually 'SATURATED'. I
.
PS: NYC is so expensive simply because it's quite a unique place in the world to live. And the same job is usually paid more than anywhere else in the US.
If you are in the middle class and above, You are considered OK by world standars, regardless of where you are and how much you make. You make more in the NY than in mississippi to be able to afford the same basic and moderate necessitites, does not matter, what percapita your city has. It is ones foolishness to assume on a tiny number to predict evrything about a country.

They own in Staten Island.
My very own parents-in-law own in Staten Island too.
They live in a single family house.
PS: Prices in Manhattan are going down, not collapsing but they're substancially down.

OK, Staten Island is the only place left in NYC where housing is still somewhat affordable. It's definitely not for everyone, though.

Like this article by an individual is the ultimate bible about India. May be this is written by another Vertigo.
There may be a 1000 articles about anything if you particularly search for it to the way you use your key words.

I just did a search the web about 'plight' in new orleans it gave at least a hundred returns. Those articles portray a real nasty picture.

Have you ever been to India, besides your Google expertise, did you ever read an authentic book about it?.

Regardless of anything, In India the segment of population that can afford a similar or comparable standard of living -the so called middle class - is growing. Does not matter what the over all GDP devided by the pupulation of 1.2 B (percapita) is. Size of the middle class may matter to a certian extent.

Does not matter if there is still poverty in the country. It is improvement that matters.

Can you declare what country you are from. How much improvement does it have campared to India.
Because it will be really interesting to see a comparison with respect a country other than the USA.
USA is considered to be the 'Best Country' on the face of earth.
What about your country of origin.
Can it stand at least in line with India in terms of its Economic Growth or Political Stability.
I challenge you to decalare it. Or may be I will dig through your earlier postings to get a hint and find out about it.
Lets debate on that aspect, because for many in the forum USA is there home too.
Don't just say "that is why I am in the USA".

Have you seen the spurt of 'Tent Cities'. Or may be you are in denial.

But Hey, FACE IT, INDIA IS GROWING TO BE AN UNDENIABLE SUPER POWER, AND PEOPLE AND WORLD ORGANIZATIONS DEVOTED TO DO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES ARE IN AGREEMENT. THE WORLD KNOWS IT

AND... NO ONE IS WAITING FOR YOUR OFFICIAL DECLARATION ABOUT IT. KEEP YOUR ECONOMICS TO YOURSELF.

Very good points.
India is a huge country, one of the most populus. An incident, or place or an event will never portray the whole country. I am from the state of Kerala.
We have 100% literacy in the state . Some states have better life standards than others. There is no single article that can portray an entire nation of over a billion people. It is so diverse especially in the socio-economic fields.

And with the rate of foreclosures in some cities (ex. Detroit) , houses can be bought for under 50k.
In Detroit half the homes are selling for $7500 or less. Yes, that's right, seven thousand five hundred.

In other cities with high foreclosure rates you can get a decent condo or a small house for $50K, however many banks are simply refusing to lend to people if the percentage of foreclosed homes in the area is too high, no matter how good your credit is.

I know that reality is hard to swallow, but it's still the reality.

Cash is king in this kind of economy. :)

Reminds me of my stay in Hyderabad, which is considered to be the most modern city in India. Me and and a coworker were visiting Salar Jung Museum and she had to use the facilities. She almost vomited after seeing the conditions of the lavatory..and this in a museum you had to pay to get in.
And forget about public bathrooms..I've witnessed more men urinating on walls or in open fields than I've ever seen before.
Despite what I saw, it still is a beautiful country in my heart.

I hear this from a lot of people too, including the "it's a beautiful country part." I guess that huge amounts of people are hard to manage, and that, despite all the economic progress, problems remain. Colonialism, and after that quasi-socialism have certainly hampered the growth of India. Good thing they opened up in the '90ies and are now progressing rapidly.

Well, good job dude, you got your folks settled in nice suburb.. only if that was nice enough for you...

I still dont feel thats good enough forthem..thasts precisely why the first thing i am going to do afte i get my Citizenship is to file for the GC for my parents..
I would rather have my parents with me safe here than staying alone there..especially after what happened to my aunty and his son..

Nooooo!
The above researches are conducted by just Scholars and Research instituitions!.

Vertigo's research is more authentic. It involves 'GooSearch'. :D

Still the final authentic answer belongs to him . Because he uses a new field of science called 'Vertigonomics' ;).

Those two different links have been posted in this thread before at least 5 times. It's actually in the first opening post of the page. There's nothing new to report, except about one guy who lives in an isolated community and who doesn't dare look out of his car window when he drives to work for he will see all the poverty. Plus, read that Bloomberg article about the quality of life in terms of 100,000 tons of sewage being in the open and men and women doing their business anywhere they can and then we'll talk.

Seems reality is a hard concept for some.
