DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

You have to add the current stay. Departure date can be the date of the day in which you’ll be submitting the form. So if you’re submitting the DS260 form today, then use today’s date as departure date.
thank you!! would it be appropriate to do it as follows, or rather count days? e.g. its 3 months 10 days so I would put 4 months?

it does not allow MM/DD/YYYY but instead only to select X days months years

and is it ok to sign and submit the i485 and the ds260 after the i485 has already been received?

another question as i got confused with the "postmark date" and signature.

for example, i sign as of today, i ship tomorrow with overnight, and uscis receives on friday, this would be fine? i read that the postmark date for uscis is either the date on the label or 10 days before if there is no date. as signatures dated in the future are not allowed and this could look like it.

Use your discretion based on the information you've been provided.
Submitting the DS260 after the I-485 has already been filed has not been known to be an issue.

I'm sorry I cannot answer this question as it is rather vague. What is the applicable context to this question (source)?

So I read that it is not allowed to date in the future.

If I sign today and it’s delivered two days after, is this ok?

As I understand USCIS uses delivery minus 10 days if no other date is available.

Also, is it ok to sign and have evidence attached that is newer than the signature?

You honestly need to stop over analyzing every single thing about this process. Yes you cannot future date the form. The signature/date on the form can be as many days/weeks long before the package gets delivered or received/accepted by USCIS. All that matters to USCIS is the form is properly signed and dated.

I currently have a USCIS account with a pending OPT EAD case but am unable to add a new case (AOS). I used same email for all applications. The error message I receive states, "There was an error syncing your case. Try again in a few minutes." Any reason why this might be happening?
?

For an additional copy of page 20:

Do I need to put my A number and name in handwriting in addition to signature and date or is it redundant and not necessary as it’s already prefilled on the page?

Hi mom.

1. Do i need to get an enrolment verification document from my school? I have graduated and currently on F1 initial OPT. (Just wanted to know if it applies to me)

2. To assess whether I have maintained a valid status, what is the general practise by the IO’s? Do they see all the I20’s (OPT approved i20 in my case) to make a conclusion or they ask for employment related documents to assess the validity?

1. Contact your school’s DSO to determine if you’re eligible to receive an enrollment verification letter.
2. Documents listed under proof of maintaining a valid status can be found in the AOS process spreadsheet.

Guys, please help me with the I-485 form, page 4. I'm not sure how to fill these fields. Or leave them blank? I'm Asylee now. Thanks

Take a look at the pre-filled sample I-485. Link to the form is in the AOS Package tab of the AOS process spreadsheet.

Yes, I have already seen this example and this block of questions goes empty. I do not quite understand what to indicate here, so I decided to ask.

If you are an Asylee (Approved Asylum seeker) which means you will already be given green card due to your approved asylum case after one year residency in US actually you can start the application after 6 month from the approval of your asylum….. what are you doing in DV based AOS thread ?

Take a second look then, cause it's not empty in the example that's linked in the AOS spreadsheet. If you wonder why that's the appropriate answer, it's because DV based AOS doesn't have an underlying petition.

That block is most certainly not empty. It is filled out to reflect what any DV selectee processing their DV selection via AOS (as the main applicant) should list there regardless of their current status.

Nothing stops any eligible person from having multiple AOS applications in the system at the same time if they’re financially capable of funding the multiple applications. Also, there’s no guarantee someone with a granted asylum will be able to get their asylum based GC sooner than from a DV based GC. Asylum based GC could take a couple of years to get approved as a matter of fact, compared to a DV based GC.

Yes, you are right. I am an approved asylum seeker. I am applying through the lottery because my wife is coming with me, and I am the only one in the asylum case (my wife is not included in my asylum case). Therefore, for the sake of my wife, I am applying as a lottery winner.

This is block of questions from sample pdf (I attached screenshot). N/A everywhere.

I am the main applicant and what should I indicate there? or leave N/A?
