DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Yesterday I also looked at some AOS timeframes (2023 and 2024) with their responses from USCIS and reasons for refusal, and then I took those responses and put them in ChatGPT(or Claude) so he could analyze me and give me a short answer about the reason for refusal... And it will be very useful to know... For example, I realized that some categories that have asylum "status" are applied after leaving status (like B1) and were out of status for some time and therefore got refused... I mean, some categories might find this tool useful to know whether to apply or not....

I am not a lawyer and this is my opinion.
thank you for sharing

Hi, had a question about Question 68.a on I-485. I received State Paid FMLA for three weeks a couple months ago while taking care of a parent. Would this be considered "Yes" to this question? Thanks!

Hi everyone,

My wife won the DV lottery she has F-2 visa and I have F-1 Visa. I am currently working with OPT Permit.

I am completing AOS Package and just want to ask for Evidence of Financial Support;

She is not working and I am the only one working as her husband. Do I have to fill form I-134 (Decleration of Financial Support) ? or I can just include my last 3 paystubs + employment letter in my documentation?

Thank you

You do not fill out an I-134 for your spouse, a third part provides the I-134. If you have the applicable financial support documents to demonstrate you both are not likely to becoming a public charge, include copies of those financial documents in both of your packages. See the AOS Process spreadsheet for a list of recommended financial self-sufficiency documents. If your personal documents are not enough to demonstrate self financial self-sufficiency, then your wife/yourself will need to find a third party to fill out the I-134 and provide you with the applicable supporting documents.

By the way thank you for guidence on I-485 Form. I noticed that Public Charge section it answered as YES. Do we have to answer as yes in these circumstances? Or Can I select NO and provide employment information that I won't be public charge. Thank you

Hi all,

At which point can I be sure that I at least completed and mailed my application correctly (signed everything, etc). I'm pretty sure I did, but reading the forum I realize that you never know. Is it first NOA? Is it cashed check? Bio scheduled? Just trying to calm my nerves.

If you receive an acceptance text or the NOA, it means your package was properly signed and filled out as required.

You wouldn’t have received your NOA if your application wasn’t properly signed or fully filled out as required, your package would have been rejected and returned back to you in place of the NOA.
Thank you for the reassurance! So far we only received "your case was received and notice was sent" text, and we are waiting on the actual notice. But I guess it would say it was rejected if it was.

You wouldn’t have received an acceptance notice if rejected. You will receive the entire package if rejected.

I guess I do not have to wait until I got my green card to appreciate the greater work Sm1smom is doing ever since I knew her (I mean in in thread) on MAY , I am seeing her replying every questions like someone of who get paid for it not even those get paid for consultation do it constantly like Sm1smom . many round of applause... May all your wishes come true... May all your life questions have immediate answers .....DR. of DV AOS

Hello everyone, I have four documents with their respective translations. They only gave me one translation certification letter along with all the translations. My question is whether it is enough to put the translation certification letter only in the first document or should I put said translation certification along with each translated document even if it is the same certification, and all the translations have their translation certification seal from the same company.

If you do not use an interpreter or document preparer to complete Form I-485, is it necessary to indicate "N/A" in each of the items in those sections or is it better to leave those items blank?

hello N/A is a must on all not applicable box . this will tell the IO you have not over looked the box instead you left it blank deliberately

I left empty everywhere. It can be problem?

P.S. I did the same with other forms and there were no problems in the past
