DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Nothing stops any eligible person from having multiple AOS applications in the system at the same time if they’re financially capable of funding the multiple applications. Also, there’s no guarantee someone with a granted asylum will be able to get their asylum based GC sooner than from a DV based GC. Asylum based GC could take a couple of years to get approved as a matter of fact, compared to a DV based GC.
Yep, you right!

This is block of questions from sample pdf (I attached screenshot). N/A everywhere.
Yes, if if has N/A it means it is not “empty”. Again, that section is filled out to reflect what any DV selectee processing their DV selection via AOS (as the main applicant) should list there regardless of their current status.

Sorry, but I don't quite understand what you mean. Also, my wife (the derivative) listed me as the primary applicant. And on my form, I left that field blank. Is that correct?

The sample I-485 shows you how you should fill out your own form, just follow the example. It’s as simple as that.
For your wife, she fills out questions 5, 6, 7 only with your information. She lists N/A for the rest of the questions as shown on the form.

I understand now. Thanks.

Hi, can someone help me understand this question in the section on public charge?
View attachment 5377
Liabilities are debts
secured liabilities are ones taken out for specific assets that they can repossess (like car loan or mortagage), unsecured is something they can’t (like credit card debt or student loans)
so the question is just: what is the total debt of your household

Guys, I have 2 questions again:

1) Will be enough IRS Tax Return for last 2 years?

2) Do I understand correctly that form I-134 is needed for those who do not have other supporting documents (Bank statements, IRS Tax Return and so on) ?

Thanks

P.S. I read and continue to read the sheet "AOS Process and Documents_Updated". I ask here if I have the slightest doubt.

1. The spreadsheet says between 1 to 3 years.
2. Form I-134 is recommended for any applicant who is unable to present or use their personal financial documents to demonstrate they’re unlikely to become a public charge.

Yeah I saw it. Ok 2 years will be enough.

I have attached bank statements for the last 3 months and I have enough income and expenses... I have also download 1040 IRS Tax Return for the last 2 years.

Do you think I need to fill out an i-134?

I was just going through the i-485
Its about part 1 26c and 27
I travelled to my home country for vacation, when i came back to the U.S i was on my F1 visa, now im in F1 OPT, do i write F1 OPT in the 27th question?

Is transitioning from F1 to F1 opt considered a status change?

If you feel you have enough income to demonstrate you're unlikely to become a public charge, and have the applicable financial documents to demonstrate that, then you do not need to have a third party (sponsor) fill out and provide you with an I-134.

You're still considered as being in F1, OPT is a perk attached to your F1 status.

Thank you for explaining!

Hello everyone,

I have received my bio appointment notice, but my case status shows nothing on the USCIS online case status. It does not indicate that a bio notice was sent. I don’t trust my mailing address, so I’m worried I might miss important mail in the future, such as RFEs. Is there anything I might be missing that is preventing me from receiving real-time updates? I understand it may not be completely real-time, but at the very least, it should be close to it.

Thank you!

That is quite normal.

Yesterday I also looked at some AOS timeframes (2023 and 2024) with their responses from USCIS and reasons for refusal, and then I took those responses and put them in ChatGPT(or Claude) so he could analyze me and give me a short answer about the reason for refusal... And it will be very useful to know... For example, I realized that some categories that have asylum "status" are applied after leaving status (like B1) and were out of status for some time and therefore got refused... I mean, some categories might find this tool useful to know whether to apply or not....

I am not a lawyer and this is my opinion.

Somehow similar to Deli's,
I have not received bio appointment notice yet. However, I received NOA indicating that they will communicate if I will be required to submit bio. So far, I have not yet received bio appointment notice and it is now 10 days after receiving NOA. Do I have still to wait or engage online agent/emma?
@Deli, did you receive bio appointment notice via mail or you email?

Thank you

Please take a look at the "FAQ" and/or "AOS Process" tabs of the AOS Process spreadsheet where this has been addressed.
