DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hi Mom et al.,

The address where the package is available to pickup has a different zip code (60199 rather than 60197).

1. Is this normal?
2. The USCIS lockbox folks does the pick up?

Thank you!

It looks like your mail is sitting at the post office. I think you used some delivery upon signature option but the postman could not find someone to sign and left a slip indicating that the mail is available for pick up. The exact same thing happened to me when I send my check to the DOS. I was worried that they would not pick up. However, they picked up the mail next day. So I guess USCIS will also do the same.

Yeah, was just overthinking. It got delivered few hours later. :)

My friends! Simple question for snob like me.
When we collect files in one folder. There will be a sequence:
1. Cover letter --> Payment --> G-1145 --> G-28 --> NL-1 --> NL-2 --> DV payment fee --> i-485 --> etc.(rest of support documents)
*or*
2. Cover letter --> Payment --> G-1145 --> G-28 --> i-485 --> NL-1 --> NL-2 --> DV payment fee --> etc.(rest of support documents)

What works better?

It really doesn’t matter.

My case has been current since October did my biometrics early December haven’t heard from my case till date , FO BostonMa , details on how to get in contact with USCIS

Forms I-131 and I-765 are adjudicated by the NBC, while the I-485 is adjudicated by the FO. Paper filing the initial two forms with the I-485 is recommended, unless you already have the NOA for the I-485 which you will need to upload to indicate you're filing those two based on a pending I-485; or you are prepared to make the separate payments for filing those if they are not I-485 based. Each form should be accompanied by it's own set of applicable supporting documents and photographs. Take a look at the Timeline spreadsheet for available updates from those who bothered to provide them.
Hi mom
Thank you for your response. I would like to know if I need to pay additional fees if I plan to submit Forms I-131 and I-765 together with my I-485. Additionally, I intend to submit the materials with my wife. Do you think I should prepare one check with the total amount for both of us, or should I prepare two separate checks?

I apologize for sending so many messages. I already have an EAD card, and I don't have any plans to leave the United States. Can I skip submitting Forms I-131 and I-765? Because, if I have to submit them after April, I feel I can't afford the increased fees. Also, if my wife and I plan to only submit Form I-485, do I only need to pay $1440 per person?

You can contact USCIS by calling their 1800 number, or chat online with an agent through Emma.

There’s a recent update from another selectee with the Boston, MA FO (who seemed to have filed around the same time as you) on the DV2024 Timeline Spreadsheet. Their interview got waived with CPO update on 2/2. Assuming your background check has cleared, I guess you can also expect to see the CPO update in the next couple of days. Meanwhile, I recommend you add your case progress to the DV2024 Timeline Spreadsheet also, to give us better insight into your progress and to help others.

1. If filing for AOS before Apr 1st, there’s no additional fee for both the I-131 and I-765.
2. Use separate checks for each person.

1. Forms I-131 and I-765 are optional, meaning they’re not mandatory as part of the AOS process.
2. You’ll make whatever the applicable payment is as of when you send in your AOS application.

p.s. number your questions when you have more than one per post to make answering them easier.

I am working with a lawyer who has been taking care of everything else so I am not quite sure of the dates.
I will check with him and fill out as much as I can!

Thanks
Chiara
Hey @kikou55, the Timeline Spreadsheet shows you recently got your approval notice. Congratulations.

Can you help other AOSers by completing your progress updates on the Timeline Spreadsheet? I realize you already stated your lawyer took care of everything for you, but can you guesstimate some of the dates (for the ones you’re not sure of) based on your correspondence with your lawyer? You should also be able to share things like your FO, if your interview was waived, by the way. Your sharing would be highly valuable to other folks who are equally waiting or yet to file.
