I went to the Social Security Administration office with my green card and they said the "Valid for DHS authorization only" sign stays on the card until I become a US Citizen. Is that true? I thought it should be updated once I have the green card in hand.
Not true.I just got my updated SSN yesterday without the "DHS authorization". DHS authorization is for non-migrant visa types, now that you are LPR you are allowed to work without any restrictions.
Hello. I received my green card today. I have a question about SSN, I never had it before. So do I need to go SSA office or will it be delivered by mail?
