DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

One last question please: where did you obtain Police and Court Clearance letters? Is there a special office I should attend in Dallas or any local police/court is ok?

You just go to the court county near you and ask them for records clearance. For the police, the nearest police station near your house. The best luck for you and Change the status by today.
By the way, I have noticed Dallas feild office approved so many cases without interview.

Congratulations! How did you pass security to talk to the IO, and which field office is your case located in?
I was just really lucky to be honest with you and the officers were probably in a good mood. One security guard told me to call the USCIS number (I knew that was gonna go nowhere) but I did, I told him what they told me and then he said he will call a supervisor. Supervisor did not pick up but another officer ended up going down. I again explained my situation and he said he will look into it and took me inside. Then they said they will interview me there. I went to San Diego location.

Hi Mom,

I had my interview today and officer was not really into my case and postponed it to monday expecting more evidences .

Let me tell you what was an issue and would love to hear your opinion on this matter:

So I came here with a j1 visa in 2017, and while still legally staying here I then filed for asylum. I never had an interview so my case was pending. In 2023 I applied for TPS (I’m from Ukraine) and the same year I won the lottery.

The issue that officer had with me is that even tho I’m applying for aoc using tps, the fact that before that I had a pending asylum is considered that I was out of status and have no right to do AOS and get diversity green card.

My lawyer told me that I CAN apply for adjustment of status as TPS is forgiving in this case.

I was never here illegally. And every document was up to date and filed and legit. Currently sitting in lawyer office waiting on him but we gonna go back there on Monday.

What do you think about it ? Do I have a chance ? Maybe I’m missing some information

did you file Asylum while still in j1 visa Status or after being out of status ?

I will pray for you

Thank you for all the information! I went this morning and they were able to take me and interview me. They told me it’s pre-approved, they were just waiting for some sort of letter from KCC, said that I should see an update by end of today or Monday! So still waiting but I think me going in there really helped!
Does anyone know for the field office to get a response from KCC? Is that just a formality?

This is a formality, but an important one. Before approving the case, IO should request your KCC file from the KCC. Please review the AOS spreadsheet's FAQ tab for details on what the KCC file is. Without the KCC file IO can't approve the case.

Not sure how useful this information will be for you, if you’ve not been informed about any difficulty reading your fingerprints following bio appointment completion.

Glad to know you were able to do a walk-in.

They’re waiting to receive your KCC file, your AOS application cannot be approved without this KCC file.

p.s. do add your case details to the 2023 Timeline spreadsheet.

DV2024 has been awesome for AOS. Scary times after the government lawyers scared the crap out of everyone about the 23rd, but actually AOS has been moving along really well

Well done Mom for another batch of LPR babies delivered...
lol … thanks Simon. High 5 to you too with the CPers.

Do you think they will continue processing green cards on Monday, or is it likely that all available visas will be exhausted today?
They will continue processing until the end of Monday, unless informed otherwise of visa exhaustion.

For my case details:
08/02 submitted my Aos package according to spreadsheets. I followed everything and read everything carefully.
08/08 received text message.
08/17 received biometric appointment for 08/29 (here my husband case status but nothing for me)
09/11 talked by phone with our congressman's assistant and ask him to follow my case.
09/12 received another request for biometric
09/13 went to another biometric appointment. At the same day talked to Emma and live agent told they sent me third request for biometric appointment.
09/16 submitted police clearance and 2 courts clearance from the county and the congressman submitted to USCIS at the same day.
09/23 went to field office to see if I can talk with the supervisor.
I have done infopass as recommendation from the security team. I lost hope completely
09/25 new card production
For my case I think biometric issue was main thing hold my case. Due to my skin condition there is no way I would have clear fingerprints. What I learned from my journey,
Emma live agent does not know anything about your case.
Talking to a congressman who can follow your case is really important for you if you think your case is taking long time or having issues like mine.
I really appreciate all the valuable spreadsheets and the knowledge @Sm1smom and other members do.
We were thinking we wouldn't make it as my case number was high and we need help for lawyers.
I wish the best to everyone here.
Can you add your case details to the Timeline Spreadsheet? Future AOSers can benefit from it from the spreadsheet compared to this thread where the details will soon get buried.

Hi everyone, Congratulations to those whose cases have been approved. I hope whoever is waiting will get their good news soon. Hoping I will be one of them.

I’m looking for some advice, as things have been quite stressful since my interview on 09/16/2024. At the end of the interview, I was informed that my case was under review due to a "name check pending." On 09/17/2024, the status changed to "Interview Was Completed, And My Case Must Be Reviewed." I managed to speak to the supervisor at the field office on 09/20/2024 and ask to expedite the name check process, but there has been no update or progress to this date. How long it usually takes for a name check to clear? Is there still a chance for approval?

If my case isn’t approved by 09/30/2024, I will miss the opportunity for a green card under DV2024. What if my case is not approved in time? Can I still get or request a report or clarification on my pending name check issue? I am frustrated not knowing what is wrong with my name and the reason for holding back.

1. We have no way of knowing how long it could take.
2. They typically do not provide a report of what the delay was about.

Is it possible that the background check completes over the weekend? Just trying to see how likely is it for my case to be adjudicated on Monday. If they work on Monday only, the chance of it clearing is pretty much null. -_-

My god this has been so stressful and frustrating.

My god this has been so stressful and frustrating.
The FOs have been known to do whatever they possibly can to get approvable cases even on the last day of the FY, as long as there’s no visa exhaustion to contend with.

hey folks, forgot to update you how went my call with USCIS UI/UX department (volunteer feedback, around 1 hour video call), the good news: they are building the whole AOS application process online there will be a set of questions about eligibility, then a list of forms to file, again all online, so I hope it will be much easier for future AOS'er

cheers!
