DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

There’s no NIV on the new passport so you can’t write a visa number from the new passport. The NIV is on your expired passport which you must have presented with the new passport when you returned. So write the visa number from the expired passport.
Thank you Mom

1. Yes, been checking the USCIS website but Lawfully is easier and quicker way to do so. With a better interface :)
2. The 'Case Analysis" feature that is paid after free 3 days trial shows you the statistics of cases filled under your category and within a similar timeframe (1 month - DV) (ps only shows cases that have Lawfully app)
3. Correct. The statistics I provided for January are based on NBC I-485 filling not specifically for DV
It is my personal recommendation to use this app - and it has been very helpful to me.
Re: your 2nd point, the case analysis is not data, but data driven predictions. I would take those with a grain of salt.

That’s interesting. Thanks for shedding further clarification on this. I’m guessing the data driven prediction is not narrowed down to FO performance considering each FO work on an independent basis, and they do not treat DV cases alike. Is that correct?

DV based data points are very few. Lawfully app will only pull data points entered by applicants ( if applicants chose to do so). So I am guessing it would not be true at FO level.

That is correct. It is not based on FO. In the app, you can see who have recently added their case in the app based on the receipt number within a month of your filling and based on your category (DV in my case). Then it shows on which step each application is on. As of now (Jun19) within the range of (may 16th - june 19th) - there are 17 cases on DV basis in the app: 4 in received step, 10 in biometrics, 2 people who have their card mailed to them, 1 RFE, 1 USCIS actively looking at the case. Hope that helps!

Hello Mom,
Is there any difference or preference between paper i-134 form and online i-134a form?
I'd definitely wait for Mom's response since I don't specialise in this process. However, I spent a lot of hours reading about the process and in my understanding, for DV cases - we need to file all the documents in paper and attach it in the same package all together. Based on my research, I-134 that are filled online under other categories take around 6 months to be approved. So, I'd recommend putting it all in one package and write a front page letter stating that it is a DV case and is time sensitive and write what forms are included in the package. :) Also, what is your current month?

Thank you so so much my dear friend

Hi! I have a quick question: When NBC sends out biometrics letter - does that mean it has been sent to the FO? Or at what point NBC sends the package to the FO? ps I did review the spreadsheet with Lockbox & FO
Mom, could you please advise, if you know, when does the package usually moves to FO from NBC?

There is also a resource in the process spreadsheet, if you look it up, which is a teleconference of NBC with public relations. This material says that the lock box tiers/ uniquely identifies a DV case with a front page and sends it to FO on average of 12 days. Mind you, this was back in 2013, i think, so this number might have gone up.

Hi Mom and fellow AOSers, I'm here with an update!)
But first, I want to thank you Mom from the bottom of our hearts ( J and Olia) for all the help, answers, information and resources, for your expertise, experience and willingness to help so many people. We used the resources you collected and organised so many times throughout this whole process! I hope you meet great, kind, very helpful people on your way, just like the person you've been to us. We really can't possibly thank you enough!

Now to our story and I hope it can be helpful to somebody on here. Our status was: humanitarian parole (UHP) Uniting for Ukraine program. We've sent our documents on January 3rd (case number EU8000) with January being our current number. Bio was waived super fast and then nothing happened until May 23rd when we decided to make a congressional inquiry. On 25th of May we received our interview invitations in mail that were sent out on 23rd)) So in our case I don't think congressional inquiry helped, it just happened simultaneously. (You gotta be patient with Miami field office flooded with work)

We've got 2 invitations: 8AM for my wife (principal) and 9 AM for me. We also got a list of the documents for a marriage based aos)) Figured it was just a standard invitations, but we were surprised it's two separate interviews.
We got to the Miami field office 1 hour early. We were welcomed in 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Security check. I had my water bottle with me, it was allowed (quote: "as long as it's not vodka or tequila"). Everybody super nice and helpful.

At 8:20 our officer came to meet us and we followed her to the office. We had an interview together.
Oath followed by submitting the original documents.
Our officer was super professional and we felt very comfortable.
We had questions about our places of birth, current address, full names, places of work, where we stayed when we just came to the US, if we ever left the US after we came in 2022. It was a very nice interview, we didn't feel under pressure.
We told her about our updates: we got TPS status update, new tax transcript and new bank statements.

Our case was different because of the J1 visa, so we got asked twice about the year of that J1 visa and if the two year home residency rule was obeyed. It was. We tried to obtain the old IAP-66/DS-2019 but it was back in 2000-2001 and there is no record. Instead we filled:
1. letter from the exchange student program with all the info that IAP-66 contained, it said that there was a 2 year home residency.
2. my FOAI and their answer that no records were found.
3. letter from my University in my home country that said I was a full time student right after the exchange program. (I also had some old pictures of me being back in my home country just in case but didn't submit and never was asked about home residency anymore)))

After that we went thorough the yes/no questions.
In the end our officer told us she got all the documents, and they all look good. She said she has interviews until the afternoon and after that she'll check if the visas are available. Other than that we are good.
Then she said "thank you for being so organised" ))))))) Dear Mom, this needed to be addressed to you! Cause we would never be so organised without the spreadsheets you've made.

We went out with wide smiles on our faces that we just couldn't fight)) Before 1 PM our status has changed to "New card is being produced".

Thank you again to Mom and everyone who takes time to fill in their info in the spreadsheets to share with others. Hope everyones Green Card journey is easy and successful!
(case will be updated as soon as I'll be allowed to edit)

That’s a lovely story. I am also a j1 student and I had the 2 year rule back in 2019 which i satisfied. I’m curious did she stress a lot about the j1 2 year home residency? I’m just wondering what kind of documents I can use to proof my compliance. I did submit an additional letter in my AOS package explaining with school docs how I satisfied the 2 year rule but I’m just curious if it was really a big deal. Congratulations once a again

Hello Mom & all other friends,
instruction of i-683 form says we need to put an "N/A" for any item that is not applicable for us (for example Middle Name or A Number) and also we need to put a "None" for the items that we don't have (for example we need to write "None" in front of the number of child, if we don't have any children),
But my civil surgeon left all of these parts blank, I need to know is this OK?
Please let me know if you have had any experience about this?
Thank you

Good evening, I’m currently making final preparations, and I have a question. Please, help .
1. Personal check - can this be a cashier's check?
2. I don’t quite understand, should I include a check for $1440 per person in the package or do I need to pay an additional $85 for biometrics? Thank you very much and sorry about my English .
