DV 2024 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

So that should answer your question about if someone else has had the same experience as you or not. It should give you an idea of how long it takes to get the bio notice for your ASC.
I confirmed my bio appointment date via phone call today with the USCIS Call center agent who was very helpful than the previous agents I interacted with over the last couple of weeks. My bio date is 06/27 at 2pm. Thank you. I am looking forward to it.

Hi Mom,

I initiated a Congressional inquiry 3 weeks ago, I checked today with the congressman's office, and they said they haven't gotten a response yet from USCIS and they still waiting for the response. They told me to check with them after a week. I know that USCIS has 4 weeks to respond back to the congressman's office. My question is if it is a good sign not to have an immediate response from USCIS which might mean that USCIS working on the inquiry to schedule my interview or if that means nothing?

Hey, thanks for the reply. My NOA took 9 days to arrive, so it can take some time for the bio notice as well.

I was just confused with the agent opening a service request to reissue the bio notice, as I had only inquired about my bio date and hadn’t even asked about the notice in the first place. I guess I might end up with a duplicate bio notice in the worst scenario.
Understandable why you'd be confused. I once received a text and email notification from USCIS about 10 days after I made an EMMA request and the notifications were NOTHING to do with what I'd requested LOL. Maybe part of their system is automated or the representative pressed the wrong button, but it sure can be confusing when you receive something you weren't expecting.

So glad you've got your bio date now!

Neither good nor bad. It is not an indication of anything.

Hello @Sm1smom,

I have a follow-up question regarding the issue raised by @ThePenitentMan. We both have the same Field Office (FO) in Santa Ana. However, @ThePenitentMan filed his case much earlier than I did and waited over 100 days after the biometry before submitting a congressional inquiry. In my case, I submitted my biometrics 37 days ago and have not yet received an interview appointment. Given that congressional inquiries take time to receive a response, and I cannot wait another 60 days to reach at least 100 days after biometrics, do you think it would be a good idea to submit a congressional inquiry right away? Or is there any specific recommendation regarding this?

You can submit a congressional inquiry now if you like.

hi Mom
Is there any way to check whether Chicago lockbox and FO accepts early-filling packages?
Maybe you can tell based on your experience you read so many different stories every day so I guess you might know that.
Thank you in advance!
Yes They accept early filing in Chicago.

It looks like Chicago FO is a bit slow when it comes to process DV cases! Have you heard any thing from them?
We contacted the congressman previously and also through Emma last week. The agent from Emma said he would make an inquiry since more than 60 days had passed since the USCIS received the RFE response. The next day, we got an email from the USCIS Chicago Field Officer, shown below. Basically, they are saying they are too busy these days.

Thank you for contacting USCIS concerning the above-referenced application. Below is a summary of what we have found.

We are experiencing a high volume of applications. Your case is awaiting review. You do not need to do anything at this time. If we need any information from you, we will mail you a request for evidence at your current address on file with USCIS. When we make a decision on your case, we will mail a notice to you or your representative at the address you gave us.

Please note that processing times are estimates and are not a guarantee that applications will be processed within a specific timeframe. Individual processing times vary. Once further action is taken, notice will be sent to the address of record. It is important that you carefully follow the instructions outlined on any future notice that you might receive.

We assure you that we are working to complete the adjudication of your application as quickly as available resources allow. If you have not received notice of further action within 90 days of this response, please feel free to submit a new request to the USCIS Contact Center for additional assistance.

Hey @Sm1smom, I need your expert advice again:

Today it’s a little bit more that 4 months after my filing to LOCKBOX.
(Field Office CHICAGO)
Which is beyond the time frame compared to @nadinka (114 days CPO-Lockbox filing day), and I'm already close to catching up on time @Plus19 (135days RFE after filing to Lockbox). And for my opinion it's probably absurd to compare with @Kagen310 - 172 days after Lockbox Filing Date. He has an SUPER-early filed date in !August 2023!.
In time-spreadsheet 2023 - the average response time (approval, RFE) was less than 3 months.

1. DO I need to do anything at this stage /or/ WHEN do I need to start doing something?
2. If I ask for help to a congressman/woman in the near future (maybe next week), would that be a good idea at this stage? (more that 4 months without any response)

You could start congressional case inquiry assistance, wouldn’t hurt to do so.

Hello. I wanted and still want..., I was just trying to find a proper mood to do it.. because It seems the destiny is joking me and my family...
First of all, I'd like to say thank you very much for all support and useful advice I got here!
So, the interview was scheduled on Monday June 3rd noon time. I'm as a main applicant got an invitation letter that stated to bring the spouse and children to the interview. My family members didn't get such kind of invitation and haven't got any updates in their USCIS accounts. I was told that's ok and this happened usually . So we have arrived to FO in 15 min earlier, did a check-in on the 1st floor (by the way , just FYI - only one from 12 'windows'/consultants was open and working, and one window - for check-in). For the check-in process they took my fingerprints and photo, the beneficiaries didn't do that. We went up to the second floor and were seated at the waiting hall to wait to be called by IO. We were waiting about 20 min and were invited to come in by the IO (on he first glance, she was nice and smiling). We did all regular things that people described about normal interview process, usually: made an oath, checked some bio briefly like my names, address, my spouse and daughter info, current employment, education, my parents' info, my current immigration status, and if I supported my legal status all time , yes/no questions like "have you ever..", asked a few questions to my beneficiaries. Everything was OK, and she told us that everything looks good to her , BUT she just got documents for my case only, she didn't get documents for my husband and daughter...and she requested their documents/cases from the building across the street, literally, and it should come to her overnight. I asked about background checks , if anything should be required or we should wait for smth, she replied that she has everything she needs. I asked if we need to provide smth else, or if we should come to new interview, she stated that everything is good, no additional interview is needed and it will be done ASAP, and she's aware about time sensitivity.
So today is Friday... and nothing new since Monday, USCIS account still shows 'interview scheduled' ...., I have no words to say.., I mean I don't have censor words any more.. Either there is a big mess at this FO or I'm out of luck at all ...
New update : (note - my interview was done on June 3rd)
Yesterday Monday Jun 10th I had a call with USCIS agent to get an update related to my case that I probably wouldn't see in the account, and they noticed an RFE in the system on my name issued by the June 3rd (at the same date when the interview was done), but I haven;t got anything via physical mail, so they told to call next day to wait until 7 days passed to place a request to get this RFE via email. So today I haven't got any mail too, and I gave a call to the tier-1 agent again and they placed a request to send me an email with a digital RFE due 7 days passed and I haven't got a physical mail . In about 6 hours later today I got a call back from the tier 2 officer , explained her my situation and she could see the RFE text and sent it to me via my email. It's medical exam related RFE, that's very-very weird for me because the IO told me she had my exam in the case. I asked the tier-2 officer about my beneficiaries situation but since they are both adults she couldn't tell me this info. I've been trying to reach USCIS agent again with my beneficiaries but the system is shut down last few hours. Still trying...
On the other hand I contacted to my civil surgeon to be connected today-tomorrow to be ready to prepare the med exam envelops again.
What's still confusing me that's they IO don't explain if they lost the medical exam envelop or they found there smth wrong and want this to be fixed...
And even more, again and again the IO made a mistake in the RFE stating I got this letter as a beneficiary based on the family-based petition.

I don't have recent Covid vaccination, the last portion was got in January 2022, so I found these changes in vaccination requirements :
"As of November 29, 2023, the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement has been updated."
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
  • Applicants must receive one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine if a dose is due at the time of the status adjustment medical examination
Do you suggest me to get a fresh covid vaccination as well ?

What do you think about my situation in general ? Thank you!

Yes, USCIS requires a new 2023-2024 version of the COVID-19 vaccine in the US since September 11, 2023. If you send your medicals after this date, then you need to get the new version of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Thank you. Is it a regular vaccination and should I just to ask my doctor I need a covid-19 vaccination? or is it a buster ? How should I ask the doctor in the clinic what exactly I need , please?

They do the new version now. Just tell them you want to get a current version of Covid vaccine.

Hi Mom,

I did my medical in august 2023. is above covid vacine requirement applicable to my case?
I did my medical exam in April 2024 and didn’t have the latest COVID vaccine. I got the original two vaccines plus a booster.

I asked my civil surgeon about it and they checked and said it wasn’t needed. I don’t believe civil surgeons would be signing off on documentation that is incorrect. Fingers crossed.

Sometimes, USCIS officers check medical exams to see if the new vaccine is marked. Some of them do not check and approve it.
