DV 2023 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Only

It all depends on the reason for the flagging in the first place. It varies for individuals. Some APs could clear within a couple of days/weeks, while some could take several months to clear.
I know probably this is a question you cannot exactly answer but I am worried that it will not be completed until October 1st. Is there any action we can take?

Indeed, there’s a possibility of that (it has happened before). Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do outside of checking case progress intermittently via congressional inquiry and initiating an ombudsman inquiry as a last resort.

Given current timeline for a case like mine, when would you think we be a good time to initiate Ombudsman inquiry as last option ?

Yes yes the link ! I saw Nebraska
No, absolutely not! You most definitely DID NOT see Nebraska on the link I provided you with!! This tells me you did not follow the instruction on the actual link I provided you with where it says "Use this table to determine which USCIS lockbox you should send certain family-based forms based on your reason for filing, eligibility category, and where you live". All you needed to do was simply scroll down and you would have have seen it "the Table" being referenced. From the screenshot you provided, it clearly says U nonimmigrant based I-485 - are you filing a U nonimmigrant I-485? That is the clue you need to let you know your information is not correct.

Like I already noted, this should be used as a last resort. I wouldn't recommend anyone utilize this option unless the FY is fast approaching and your case has been pending for quite a while.

Hi Sm1smom

After applicant has completed Biometric how long does it takes for Field Office to receive AOS package from Service center ?

Hello. I have a question. Me and my wife applied for AOS based on DV Lottery. We sent all AOS Package almost one month ago but still did not receive any confirmation letter from USCIS. Maybe someone knows when should we receive this letter? What should we do in this situation?
Will be glad for any information.

Thank you!
I see from the Timeline spreadsheet some folks who applied around the same time as you, or after you, already got their acceptance notice/NOA. Have you checked to confirm if your money order has been cashed yet?

Hello,

I sent my AOS to Chicago yesterday. May I ask, to see updates on my case, do I need to register on the uscis website or will uscis contact me via email/phone/mail?

Thank you!

Did you include form G-1145 with your AOS package? If you did, you'll receive a text or email notification following USCIS' formal acceptance of your AOS package.
For subsequent updates, take a look at Step 12 on the "AOS Process" section/tab of the AOS Process Spreadsheet.

Sm1smom, thank you for following up and adding notes to the spreadsheet. I am happy to learn another interview waived by the Dallas FO. Fingers crossed.
Hi Dr.HPol,

I would like to know about your experience with Biometric appointments in Dallas. My daughter is supposed to attend next week.

Hi Sm1smom
I mean to say after filing AOS package how long it takes for local field office to receive our filings ? Is it before our biometric or after our biometric is completed ?
Thank you

Hello Mom @Sm1smom
I did talk to live agent last month it said my case is processing with Mount Laurel but today they told me my case has not been sent to any field office yet my case still currently located at National benefits center. I’m so confused what happened to my case
FYI my status show all fingerprints were taken since Feb 15

AOS application typically gets forwarded to the FO from the NBC ad soon as the bio appointment gets scheduled. Take a look at the Lockbox_NBC_FO tab of the AOS process spreadsheet for more information.

You can ignore what you were recently told about your case still being at the NBC, your application should already be with your FO by now. Being provided with conflicting or inaccurate updates regarding case status is the norm with the USCIS frontline agents - that is because they mostly are unable to see updates about DV base AOS applications - they typically see exactly what you see yourself most of the time.

Hi @Sm1smom , I just received the I-797C Notice that my AOS application and fee was received. The address indicates that it was sent from the National Benefits Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri (which is right next to Kansas City). Does that mean that the biometrics and/or interview might be assigned there aswell?

I'm asking because I'm in St. Louis, and using the FO and ASC locator on the USCIS website (for my current address), both are supposed to be located in St. Louis.

Hi mom, I have 2 kids below 14 years, how should I fill form G-1145 for them, I mean I have to write their name or my name on the form?
Thank you

Hi Diluae,

It was not as fast as I expected but everything went smoothly. It took us about 45 minutes to go in and out. Keep in mind there are 2 ASCs in Dallas. One is in the South, and one is in the Northeast. We went to the latter one.
